An "umbrella" insurance policy is essen-tial for anyone with significant net worth. It pays for settlements and legal fees thatexceed the personal liability limits ofhomeowners and automobile insurancepolicies. Because umbrella insurance usu-ally requires specific liability limits on thepolicies upon which it is piggybacking, itmay be necessary to boost coverage. Ac-cording to the Insurance Information Insti-tute, the typical homeowner will find thathe or she can get a $1 million umbrellapolicy for $250 to $400 per year. As ageneral rule of thumb, it is often recom-mended that those interested in getting anumbrella policy seek coverage equal toone to two times their exposed (meaningvulnerable in their estate) net worth.Should you have an umbrella policy? Wewill help make it easy for you to comfort-ably select the best policy that best satis-fies your insurance needs. We work veryclosely with our clients to provide the bestcoverage available for every dollar spent. It makes good sense to take advantage ofthe expert advice our team of experiencedinsurance professionals can provide at 269Main Street, Zumbrota. It is our goal toensure that all customers maintain a firmsense of security, for themselves, familiesand their properties. Call 507-732-5693today and let our experience work for you.

Olmsted Medical Centerlaunches two websites
Olmsted Medical Center(OMC) and the OMC RegionalFoundation, in partnership withGeonetric, an online solutions pro-vider for the healthcare sector, havelaunched two new responsivewebsites. The new websites de-liver on OMC’s brand promise ofexceptional, personal care andshowcase the organizations’ strongcommunity connections.
“As the healthcare sectorevolves, patients increasingly areexpecting online services that de-liver user experiences similar tothose already provided by thetravel, banking, and hospitalityindustries,” said Jeremy Salucka,OMC’s communication and webservices coordinator. “Our new sitewill offer a much more intuitiveand interactive experience for any-one looking to apply for a job, find a location, register for a class,or learn about an OMC clinician.”
A comprehensive events calen-dar, estimated wait-time indica-
tors, and a host of other interac-tive health tools join existing trans-actional services like the MyOMCclinical patient portal and onlinebill pay.
OMC’s new website is built onGeonetric’s VitalSite®contentmanagement system (CMS) anduses responsive design, whichmeans the website automaticallyrearranges content based on thescreen size of the site user’s brows-ing device.
“Smartphone and tablet com-puting are rapidly replacing tradi-tional desktop computers aspeople’s go-to devices,” says SueSchuett, chief information officerat OMC. “And increased patientinvolvement with their medicalrecords, providers, and treatments/services is the most common themein recent healthcare legislation.Moving to the VitalSite®CMS andnew design/layout gives OMCmore tools to help patients engagein their own healthcare.”
Beatles tributecoming to theState Theatre
ZUMBROTA – Hear the musicof The Beatles while enjoying newsand film clips about the group’s“Sgt. Pepper’s” years at “TheBeatles: Part II,” a concert and“rockumentary” by Justin Ploofand the Throwbacks at 7:30 p.m.Saturday, April 5, at the StateTheatre.
Crossings is bringing the bandback for this second installmentof a Beatles tribute concert. Mostimportantly, the Throwbacks au-thentically reproduce the musicof The Beatles, this time coveringthe time span when the bandstopped touring and devoted them-selves entirely to the studio. Theyreleased the legendary masterpiece“Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts ClubBand” and ushered in a new formof record making.
Beyond the music, the audiencewill “Witness the End of an Era,”through stories, anecdotes and fas-cinating facts chronicled on vin-tage footage and other media.
The Beatles would continue intheir dominance of the BillboardCharts through this era, postinganother 10 number one hits, aswell as continue to change pop’smusical landscape with five chart-topping albums. In the end, theywould leave a music catalogue thatstarted a revolution and that stillinfluences pop and rock musictoday.
The Throwbacks performed“The Beatles: Part I” in Zumbrotathe first of March. The core group,Justin Ploof, Jason Ploof, and DanPloof have a multitude of profes-sional music experience and haveshared the stage with the likes ofSoul Asylum, Bobby Vee, JoanJett, and Jessie Lang. Their in-credible attention to detail andquality of musicianship will wowaudiences from the first chord. Theywork to emulate the songs the waythe artists meant for them to beperformed.

The com-puter carts are being used every day.District technology labs were discussed. They are used a lot. IPad carts are work-ing well and being utilized daily. We are99% complete with our wireless. MDEissued a statement concerning usingtablets during testing. They will not sup-port use of tablets of any kind for at least2 years. We will need to come up with aplan to use other devices. A blendedenvironment was discussed by the tech-nology committee. Our student informa-tion system was discussed as to whetherPowerSchool and the lunch program arewhat we need. The committee looked atMoodle to see if that is the best programfor our school. CWD published an articleabout Pine Island School technology.Taylor and Kevin are working on a tabletaudit for the end of the year. The tech-nology department starting summer plan-ning. They’re continuing to spread theword about our 1:1 journey. There willbe a team presenting to Tierney Bros.tomorrow.

F. SNOW DAY PLAN REVIEW: All teach-ing staff has the opportunity to recordtime served to make up for up to fourmissed days. Time recorded must beapproved by the building administrator.
Day 5 was made up as a staff de-velopment day on Presidents’ Day. Nowthat we have 7 snow days, it is recom-mended that the PreK-8 principal begiven the discretion to define the make-up expectations for teachers serving gradesPreK-8 for days 6 and 7. Our high schoolstudents worked online those 2 snowdays. Motion by Warneke, seconded byFall to approve the plan as presented.Motion carried 6-0.
HIGH SCHOOL UPDATE: Mr. Cardillehas heard a lot of good things about theonline learning during the snow days.Power outages were an issue. The stu-dent advisory group wants to collectbooks, clothing, etc. after the city-widerummage sale to give to the needy. Theregistration process is continuing. Thisyear they had a student registration in-formation morning about the electiveswith Ms. Taffe, the counselor. Registra-tion was done online. It could be done athome with parents this year on theirelectronic devices. Some subjects had apower point presentation describing theirdepartment. There were a lot of positivecomments from the students about that. The ALP program for Pine Island hasbeen discontinued by the State. We usedto be able to run summer school and getfunding through the State. Everythinghas to go through the ALC now. Trans-portation is a concern during the sum-mer. The State does not compensate usfor that.
STUDENT REP UPDATE: In the stu-dent rep’s absence, Mr. Cardille pre-sented to the board. Some social mediahas caused some problems lately. Mr.Cardille said the students like the recog-nition of their accomplishments, espe-cially the non-athletic events. Mrs. Taffewas recognized for all her help withregistration.
There was some confusion with theProject Lead the Way class registration.Another class was added in the last fewdays. Other districts are offering morethan one PLW class per year. We thoughtthe classes were not supposed to be
concurrent and should be in order. WhenMr. Cardille talked with PLW reps, hegot different answers depending on whohe talked with. Fall reported that somestudents were told they couldn’t registerin a PLW class. Mr. Cardille will addressthe issue tomorrow to make sure thatstudents are enrolled if they want to be.
