October 19, 2008
It is with humbled hearts that
members of Tau Eta Zeta Chap-
ter remember Past Grand
Lullelia W. Harrison who passed
on Saturday, October 11, 2008.
Her life works are too numerous
to count, but she was a woman
of high standards and gave un-
selfishly to Zeta. Born on Janu-
ary 24, 1913, in Houston, Texas,
she was the daughter of a black-
smith & her mother was a
housewife. As a child she at-
tended Crawford Elementary
School and went on to graduate
at the age of 15 from Booker T.
Washington High School. She
went on to attend Wiley College
in Marshall, Texas in the Fall of
1928 where she found Zeta. She
became a member of Zeta Phi
Beta Sorority in 1929 and has
been a long standing, hard work-
ing member ever since. She has
served in many capacities with in
the sorority, and has worked
within the national body for more
than 60 years. As the 12th Na-
tional President of Zeta Phi Beta
Sorority, Inc., Past Grand Harri-
son initiated the Housing Project
of 1943. It was under her admini-
stration that the Amicae auxiliary
was established and the Archon
came into publication.
At the time of her passing, she

On Sunday October 19, 2008 the Youth Auxiliary will host a Baby Shower for the THZ Stork's Nest located at St. Agnes Hospital. In addition, Fall Induction will be held on October 19, 2008. We are looking to induct a record amount of new members. The Amicettes & Archonettes look for-ward to a public speaking workshop
given by Soror Gigi Barnett of WJZ TV in November. While the Pearlettes are gear-ing up to attend a December perform-ance of the Nutcracker. As you can see the THZ Youth Auxiliary has started the year with zeal. Please support the girls as they blaze a trial of positivity, growth & community outreach. The Amicettes would like to thank the Sorors who have supported & donated to their ongoing Loose Change drive. In addition, the Amicettes are also doing a PHONERAISER - please donate old unused phones and inkjet cartridges. The phones will be shipped off to be recycled and the Amicettes will earn money. The Youth Advisors would like to wel-come the wonderfully awesome additions of Sorors LeTonya Smith (Pearlette Advi-sor) & Vonda Holman-Carter (Archonette Advisor). For more information about the youth auxiliaries please contact DaVita Alston at [email protected].

Though Tau Eta Zeta is a very close chapter, they always find
time to support other Zeta chapters as we are all working to-
ward a common goal.
The Sorors of Tau Eta Zeta Chapter continues demonstrating Sisterhood by supporting Alpha Zeta Chapter as they cele-brated their 85th Chapter Anniversary on Saturday, September 20, 2008. Sorors Lisa Hudley (President), Tamara Harris, Cheryl Harrison-Murray, Vonda Holman-Carter, Yolanda Jack-son, Theresa Lewis and Brenda McKinley looked beautiful in their after five attire representing the epitome of Finer Woman-hood. Sorors Kim Sawyer and Jackie McNair were recognized as the Past First National Vice President and Maryland State Director, respectively. Soror Brenda McKinley was recognized as a Past President of Alpha Zeta Chapter with a roaring cheer from her fellow chapter members. In the true light of Sister-hood, Tau Eta Zeta shared a table, enjoyed a delicious meal and had a wonderful fellowship with Delta Zeta Zeta, Lambda
Gamma Zeta and Tau Delta Zeta Chapters. The evening culmi-nated with dancing to a phenomenal live band and reminiscing with sorors from other chapters throughout the State of Mary-land. It was truly an evening to remember!
hood is all about. Not only does Tau Eta Zeta and Tau Delta Zeta Chapters portray the precepts of our beloved sorority, we also demonstrate the concept by hosting wonderful bonding activi-ties such as the Brunch @ Bust-ers.
The beautiful Sorors of Tau Eta Zeta and Tau Delta Zeta Chap-ters joined together for food, fun and a fabulous time at Dave & Busters on Sunday, September 28, 2008. Sorors were able to meet new sorors, share funny stories, cheer for their favorite football team and have a phe-nomenal sister bonding experi-ence. This is and was a true representation of what Sister-
While we do spend time with our Zeta Sorors, Tau Eta Zeta Chapter makes time to support the brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. as well. Tau Eta Zeta hosts and attends events in conjunction with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. on a regular basis. This is to culti-vate sisterly & brotherly love that makes the Sigma/Zeta bond such a unique one. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. & Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. are the only organizations of the National Pan-Hellenic Council that are constitutionally bound. The Brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Zeta Sigma chapter welcome sorors to join them for tailgating at every Morgan State University Home game!!
