Building our future, together. 2010 Bond Proposal

Why are we seeking a bond issue?

1. Growth. We’ve gained more than 600 students in the last five years alone.

2. Our parents and staff want kindergarten returned to elementary buildings and a clear feeder system.

3. Our parents and staff show strong support for greater use of technology K-12th.

What is the district requesting?

A $20.275 million bond proposal on May 4 that would require no increase in the current tax rate of 6.63 mills.

This proposal is based upon the input we received from hundreds of Zeeland parents, staff, students, and citizens in the fall of 2008.

Our original estimate for meeting the district’s needs totaled $27 million. That package has been reduced by about $7 million.
