ZE Performance extruders come with a base frame that features factory-defined spaces to accommodate vacuum pump and oil lubrication unit.
Easily accessible connections for up- stream and downstream equipment ensure perfect coupling. The swiveling control panel gives easy handling in daily use and clear visualization of all control functions. On-board display of important extruder information saves time, increa-ses working comfort and provides enhan-ced ease of operation and efficiency.
Specific on standard processes fitted The ZE Performance series is exclusi-vely equipped with in-house developed KraussMaffei Berstorff screw elements,
which ensure excellent material quality at unparalleled productivity. The proces-sing section is of modular design and can be specifically tailored in terms of throughput rate and application.
The ZE Performance barrel housings are designed for maximum durability and are perfectly suited for the entire range of standard compounding tasks. Four machine sizes of different design with an L/D ratio of 4, 8, 10 or 12 are available for optimum adaptation to the given application. All barrel housings are characterized by precise temperature control with heating/cooling bores being arranged extremely close to the proces-sing chamber. While cooling is based on cooling water injection, high-perfor-mance electric cartridge heaters are used for heating. This combination ensu-res extremely stable process conditions.

Minimum set-up times Different screw elements with a D/D dia-meter ratio of 1.55 are tailored to standard compounding applications and provide both excellent compounding quality and uncom-promising efficiency. The C-clamp flange sys-tem facilitates assembly and disassembly of the barrel housings and substantially reduces set-up times during barrel housing changes.
All models of the ZE Performance series are equipped with air-cooled motors for 900 rpm screw speed. A range of specially tailored upstream and downstream systems like various metering and pelletizing units turn the twin-screw extruder into a complete production line.
Simple machine operationThe ZE Performance series is controlled by means of a KraussMaffei Berstorff opera-ting software. The user interface shows the current status of the twin-screw extruder in a clearly structured and easily comprehen-sible manner. In addition, production-relevant parameters of various peripheral systems and downstream equipment, for instance, can also be displayed. Graphical animations provide information on faults, trend data and recipe management. Intuitive operator guidance eliminates the need for long trai-ning periods. At the same time, input errors are minimized.
