West Zaravon: The Eschn Land

The continent of Zaravon consists of four countries, each with their own widely differing culture. Shared by the four nations is the Council of Saulot – the pantheon of nine deities which reside in the House of Saulot on Outland, and which govern the Zaravonesse.

In addition to this, in times of peace the nations share trade through the work of the guilds – which are primarily based in West Zaravon.

The Bastion of Kaervek

The Kaervekians have always been known for their harsh and fiery manner in the execution of both their religious laws, and the law of their nation. Their path is that of purification through fire, and they tolerate not the abomination, nor the wizard who would trade his soul for power, to live.

The Antarak Army , an old West Zaravon militant order which has become an important guild and serves as the standing army for the Hoar Prince, has many Kaervekian priests and warriors in its ranks. The White Knights have often served as the Prince’s tax collectors, and Flame Priests often aid legal inquisition with their keen senses for the truth. Kaervek is worshipped to a smaller extent by the other three nations.

The leader of the Kaervekians is titled the Archimandrite - the spiritual voice of the faith on Zaravon, and resides at the holy Bastion.

The Adventure into the God’s Blight began here, shortly after the Western Light (Tol Pyra) shone once more!

The God’s Blight Canyons

The story, as found in the historical Khovnossi tome, Igshun Scente, also known as the Last Days of Horn, tells the tale of days when the Gods themselves still walked upon the lands and swam in the seas and flew in the air, and lorded over the mortal races as their kings and leaders.

The land of West Zaravon was warlike, ruled by the brothers - Kaervek and Uther, while Khovnos delved into ancient and forbidden magic granting them insight and fortune, their gods long since departed from mortal realm.

Eventually battle was met between the God-led and the God-less, and only a single champion of diamond stood before the gods Uther and Kaervek – a beacon to the Khovnos people, this was Sah Greshan, the Diamond Warrior.

Uther, in a mighty swing, smashed the Diamond Warrior into the Earth with his titanic maul, causing the land to seizure and quake, burying the Diamond Warrior forever in the God’s Blighted lands under a splinter of Uther’s hammer… This story was a two-fold lie..

Bazouwanah’s TaleThe Desert Raven was an influential Azurnal guild knowledge seeker – an Archmagus of the Sapphire Tower, with the sultry charm and beauty to rule all Khovnos if she could. A child of Khovnos, the bandit mage raged against the misdeeds of the Antarak and West Zaravon . She especially hated the Kaervekians because of the massacre of the Rotundian Sages at Tol-Pyra over 500 years ago.

The Enchantress Bazouwanah was rising to prominence with the knowledge seekers. With her worldly influence she had already caused havoc for the Kaervekians in numerous ways, but a big triumph was when she aided the Black Cabal in the theft of a sacred book in transit – the Igshun Scente.

Immediately, she set her first and most promising apprentice, Dulgustro the Decadent, on an important mission for Khovnos: To raise the pillar that buries the Diamond Warrior, so that it my wreak the nation’s wrath of ancient vengeance!

The Providence of the ZaravonesseIt took exploration and adventuring to finally understand the truth. Bazouwana strove on, even though her expedition was halted by bothersome heroes, she set her agents to unearth the pillar once more as she pursued her new enemies; thieves who had kidnapped the Igshun Scente from her dead apprentice’s lair. To her dismay, the sacred work had been torn in twain, and with the aid of her consort Madupdam, the Ataman of Earth, she could only recover one half from the adventurer thieves. This was all she required to discover the truth, but like a wisp, it evaded her grasp.

A mysterious clue in the tome led the enchantress into an underwater lake deep beneath the seat of the king – there she beheld a second splinter, like the one in the God’s Blight, and was infuriated at not knowing what to make of it. These were the mages last moments, her only thoughts before she was slain were that she was misled for so long - deceived for some forbidden higher purpose. Whose work had she been doing, whose work had she done?

As shadows grew upon West Zaravon, the

Zaravonesse sought light and guidance, forgetting old fueds favouring

unity of nation.Archimandrite Landvarious thus declared a national apology to the Maul of Uther, as it

was in fact Kaervek who threw down Uther’s avatar in that ancient fight, burying

the warrior for an eternity. A truth deliberately kept from their brethren, until such darkness would

necessitate the radiant light oncemore…

The rest you may piece together
