Dear Community,

It is the time of year for new beginnings for most of us. A new school year is starting for our kids. Many of them will be going away to Colleges and Universities away from home, and some will be starting school for the very first time. Here are somethings to keep in mind as we all adjust to new realities in our lives.

Allow yourself to be a beginner. No one starts off being excellent.

Your attitude determines your direction, so always have a "can do" attitude.

Mistakes are proof that you are trying.

Character is doing the right thing when nobody is looking.

Everything you do Now, is for your Future.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

The ZANT Board wishes all our kids success in all their academic and extra- curricular

endeavors.

ZANT would like to invite all the youth, 18yrs and older, to attend a Youth Religious/Cultural Workshop lead by Mobed Poras T. Balsara from 7 - 8:15pm on Friday, August 19th 2016, at the ZANT Center.

Please send your discussion questions to Mobed Poras T. Balsara by Wednesday, August 17th 2016 .

This workshop will be followed by a Pizza dinner and fun games such as Ping Pong and Chess. Please come and join us for an informative and fun youth gathering!

YOUTH RELIGIOUS / CULTURAL WORKSHOP

To celebrate this Shenshai New Year, 1386 Y.Z., the ZANT Board has planned a unique celebration.

We have chartered a party boat on Lake Grapevine with amenities for fine dining and a great mu-sic system for dancing. After careful research we realized that the cost per head for a hotel dinner and dance and for this 3 Hour Dinner & Moonlight Cruise, is comparable. We opted for this New Experience!

We have reached our limit of 99 guests on board and will not be able to accommodate anymore! We look forward to a fun time with all!

Please note that the cruise requires all to do some paper-work before boarding. Hence we urge everyone to be on time as late comers will not be entertained once it’s time for the cruise to leave the harbor. Wear casual clothing that’s comfortable for the weather (lower deck has AC & the up-per deck is open & has a cover to provide shade), however, high heels are not recommended.

We are very grateful to our Parent Volunteers for ca-tering lunch for our kids & adults & a monthly Birth-day Cake, at each Religious Class.

To-date ZANT has sold our kids’ Zoroastrian Festival books and raised $5,056 for ZOMF (ZANT Center Op-eration & Maintenance Fund)…. So let’s continue to spread the word & help our kids in their Fundraising effort to raise $9,000 from the sale of their books!

CHILDREN’S RELIGION CLASS AND VOHU MANAH GROUP


The children of the Zoroastrian Associa-tion of North Texas (ZANT) have written and illustrated a book on Zoroastrian Fes-tivals. This book is a “must have” for eve-ry Zoroastrian home library and we urge our community to purchase this Special Limited Edition for your own family and friends.

Please support our children’s hard work and effort in raising funds for the ZANT Center Operation and Maintenance fund.

It is our honor and good fortune to welcome Dasturji Khurshed Kaikobad Dastur, our High Priest of the Iranshah AtashBehram in Udvada (India), to Dallas and to ZANT!

Dasturji will talk about the “Significance of our Daily Prayers” and “Story of the Iranshah Atashbehram” during his presentation to the kids and youth. We are working with him on the topics of discussion during his session with the adults. Questions and Answers will follow his talk.

It being our ZANT Religious class Sunday, we will begin with Prayers by all priests in our Prayer Room at 10:45 am.

The Path of Zarathustra is a 1½ hour movie by Oorvazi Irani. It has been acclaimed by Zoroastrian scholars and reputed film makers as addressing “the essential faith and beliefs of the Zoroastrian community” woven into an interesting love story. It is a very enlighten-ing and meaningful experience that will stay with you for a long time

We are encouraging involvement of all ZANT Members in our activities. One way of doing so is to volunteer to serve on one of our Sub-Committees.

Per the our Bylaws, the Board appoints members to serve on various Sub-committees to assist the Board with various activities. Duration of the Sub-Committees is one year but members can be re-elected or re-appointed from one year to the next.

Selecting an Organization — Selecting the organization that you wish to support is as simple updating the Community Rewards selection on your Digital Account.

Sign into your Digital Account (if you haven’t already).

Select ‘My Account’.

Scroll down to the ‘Community Rewards’ section of your account page.

Select ‘Enroll Now’ or ‘Edit’.

Enter the name or NPO number of the organization that you wish to support.

Select the appropriate organization from the list and click on ‘Save’.

Your selected organization will now display in the Community Rewards section of your account page.
