Our Forum participants spoke loud and clear: project-based learning (PBL)—though certainly not a newconcept—is a critical element to creating the nextgeneration of thinkers and makers. When our studentslearn by doing, they gain confidence, competence, andskills necessary to survive the looming economicchanges.

But PBL doesn’t begin and end in the classroom.Whether you’re a community member, a business leader,or a member of a local civic group, you can join themovement to get our young people ready for FutureWork—and young people, you have the ability to lead yourpeers to engage in project-based learning, too! Whetherit’s through establishing a social venture, completing aportfolio in class, or working on a new product with a localbusiness, you can engage in project based learning toprepare for our rapidly evolving economy.

If you’re interested in joining the PBL movement, pleasejoin us on one of our virtual engagement sessions!

Here’s what we’re reading thismonth. Share your favorite youthengagement literature, and yourpick could be featured in the May
