tantly seniors play a substantial and flawless role so try to have fun filled professional

tor MITS, I look forward to take my students to the pinnacle of research and education. The institute is

Now, as you are part of MITS, ranked among top 100 colleges of India urge to make excellent

career by being a keen learner during classroom teaching, laboratory instructions, industrial trainings and

participating in sports, cultural and other extra-curricular activities of your interest for all round develop-

MITS Family to our new Director Dr. J. K. Shrivastava. Dr. Jitendra Kumar

Shrivastava has completed his B. Tech and M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from HBTI, Kanpur. He has been awarded Ph. D in Environmental Engineering

from Government Engineering College, Ujjain in 1997. He has been honored with

Harcourtians Award and Vikas Ratna Award. He authored 2 books related to Chemical

and Environmental Engineering. He is also office bearer of IEI and IIchE. Dr. J. K.

Shrivastava is associated with more than 25 leading Universities and Premiere Institutions of India. He is

a member of expert committee of NBA and providing his expertise to MP Pollution Control Board. He is

actively involved with the confidential works of MPPSC, UPSC (New Delhi) and several other Universi-

ties and Institutions. Before joining as Director of MITS, he was serving as a Professor in the Chemical

Engineering Department of UEC, Ujjain. He also worked as Principal of UEC, Ujjain during 2009-2010.

Don’t Be Job Seeker, Be Job Creator

Unemployment position in India especially among educated youth has been alarming since

long and it is getting worse with addition of thousands of graduates and post-graduates from

colleges and universities every year. This situation has been aggravated by the students on

their own because students are seeking more job employment than for self employment, crea-

tivity and entrepreneurship. Today, students do not think of any other opportunities than job employment. It has been

realized that inculcation of entrepreneurial values among educated youth will help them to

look at entrepreneurship as an important career opportunities. This will accelerate the process

of becoming self reliant and self employed persons and also utilize creative energies for

growth and development of individual as well as nation. So don‟t be job seekers, be job crea-

tors. Think about it!

ENGINEERING HUMOR

Clever Engineer A mathematician and an engineer are sitting next to each other on a long flight. The mathematician leans over to the engineer and asks if he would like to play

a fun game. The engineer just wants to take a nap, so he politely declines and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks. The mathematician persists and explains that the game is real easy and lots of fun. He explains, "I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5. Then you ask me a question, and if I don't know the answer, I'll pay you $5." Again, the engineer politely declines and tries to get to sleep. The mathemati-cian, now somewhat agitated, says, "Okay, if you don't know the answer, you

pay me $5, and if I don't know the answer, I'll pay you $50!" This catches the engineer's attention, and he sees no end to this torment unless he plays, so he agrees to the game. The mathematician asks the first question. "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?" The engineer doesn't say a word, but reaches into his wallet, pulls out a five-dollar bill and hands it to the mathematician Now, it's the engineer's turn. He asks the mathematician "What goes up a hill with three legs and comes down on four?"

The mathematician looks up at him with a puzzled look. He takes out his laptop computer and searches all of his references. He taps into the air phone with his modem and searches the net and the Library of Congress. Frustrated, he sends e-mail to his co-workers all to no avail. After about an hour, he wakes the engineer and hands him $50. The engineer politely takes the $50 and turns away to try to get back to sleep. The mathematician then hits the engineer, saying, "What goes up a hill with three legs, and comes down on four?" The engineer calmly pulls out his wallet,

hands the mathematician five bucks, and goes back to sleep.

Four Engineers and a Broken Car There are four engineers travelling in a car; a mechanical engineer, a chemical engineer, an electrical engineer and a computer engineer. The car breaks down. "Sounds to me as if the pistons have seized. We'll have to strip down the engine

before we can get the car working again", says the mechanical engineer. "Well", says the chemical engineer, "it sounded to me as if the fuel might be contaminated. I think we should clear out the fuel system." "I thought it might be an grounding problem", says the electrical engineer, "or maybe a faulty plug

lead." They all turn to the computer engineer who has said nothing and say: "Well, what do you think?" "Ummm - perhaps if we all get out of the car and get back in again?"

Height of the Pole Two Engineers agree to paint a flag pole. Of course they need to know how tall it is so they can purchase the paint. One shimmies up the pole with a tape measure and falls after reaching about half way. While trying to figure out how they can possibly measure the pole along comes a Designer. After asking what

How many electrical engineers does it take to change a light bulb? Ans: None. They simply redefine darkness as the industry standard. How many computer engineers does it take to change a light bulb? Ans: "Why bother? The socket will be obsolete in six months anyway." How many mechanical engineers does it take to change a light bulb? Ans: Five. One to decide which way the bulb ought to turn, one to calculate the force required, one to design a tool with which to turn the bulb, one to design a comfortable - but functional - hand grip, and one to use all this equipment.

Android (operating system) Android is an operating system for mobile devices such as Smartphone and tablet computers. The Android Open Source Project (AOSP) is tasked with the maintenance and further development of An-droid. Android consists of a kernel based on the Linux kernel, with middleware, libraries and APIs written in C and application soft-ware running on an application frame work which includes Java-compatible libraries based on Apache Harmony. Android uses the Dalvik virtual machine with just-in-time compilation to run compiled Java code. Android has a large community of developers writing applica-tions ("apps") that extend the functionality of the devices. Developers write primarily in a customized version of Java. There are currently more than 520,000 apps available for Android. Apps can be downloaded from third-party sites or through online stores such as Android Market, the app store run by Google. Android history The version history of the Android operating system began with the re-lease of version 1.0 in September 2008. Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google and the Open Handset Alliance. The first Android device is released by HTC which is “HTC Dream (G1)”, had the Android 1.0 features. These are the various versions of android OS with Lots of Updates and Bug Fixes.

Android OS provides some Special Functionality to the mobile phones which is not provide by others Operating Systems.

Handset layouts

The platform is adaptable to larger, VGA, 2D graphics library, 3D

graphics library based on OpenGL ES 2.0 specifications.

Web browser

The web browser available in Android is based on the open-

source WebKit layout engine, coupled with Chrome's V8 JavaScript

engine.

Additional hardware support

Android can use video/still cameras, touch

screens, GPS, accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, dedicated

gaming controls, proximity and pressure sensors, thermometers.

Tethering

Android supports tethering, which allows a phone to be used as a wire-

less/wired Wi-Fi hotspot.

Mahakal Group of Institutes celebrated its 10 years of academic excellence in benign presence of honorable

Digvijay Singh ji General Secretary, AICC & former Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh on 26th July 2011.

2) Industrial Training conducted by HCL Info Systems: HCL Info systems conducted 45 days training session for students of CS & IT (MGI) in which around

250 students participated to get updated with the latest trends, software‟s & project development

skills

3) Book under publication by Prof. Rakesh Sharma:

A book titled “Study of Dark Matter in Context of Recent Observations and Experiment” by Prof. Rakesh

Sharma (Engineering Physics Dept) is under publication by Lambert Academic Publications, Germany .This

book takes us to the world of Astronomy and Astro particle physics.

4) Recent Placement Scenarios: Eight students of MITS got selected in TCS and four students in ZENSAR Technologies

5) Techno-Kumbh 2011:

Two days Technical festival Techno-Kumbh 2011 was held at MITS in April 2011 which provided a platform

to the students of technical stream, to display their strengths in various events.

6) Computer Society of India (CSI):

CSI is a forum for members associated with Computer Science and Information Technology

whose Ujjain Chapter is established at MITM. In this chapter Expert Lectures are delivered

by various Computer professionals on upgraded technologies and researches. Recently ex-

perts of our college Mrs. Deepali Kelker (HOD-MCA, IT) gave expert lecture on “Introduction to Genetic Algorithm with Application on Travelling Sales Person‟s Problem”

and Prof. Sandeep Gangane (HOD-EC, EI) delivered expert lecture on MATLAB. Soon the forum is about to start

Student Chapter for the students to participate and get updated with the recent technologies.

7) Entrepreneurship Camp:

Two days Entrepreneurship Camp was organized by Prof. Praniti Sax-

ena and Prof. Brajesh Bagdi in March 2011. In this camp eight desig-

nated personalities comprising of bank manager and industrialists

delivered motivational talks to the students with future perspec-

tive of being a successful entrepreneur.

8) Prof. Divya Shrivastava (Comm. Skills Dept.) has been certified for attending three days workshop of

“Communication Skills Orientation Program”.

9) Prof. Madhavi Verma (Comm. Skills Dept.) submitted her paper work on „Quality Improvement through Com-

munication Skills‟ in the event „Human Values in Technical Education‟ held at UEC

A SALUTATION TO M.I.T.S. 5 years ago, we were toddlers, all fear and all cries. But indeed, how time really flies. That fear transformed into Love gradually And M.I.T.S. became our Second Home actually. That is the selfless Love of our Teachers Our real Gurus and true Preachers And such was the cordial atmosphere of the college. Let alone missing our home, the college got over so soon! Wealth of Knowledge is interspersed with moral val-ues, Integrity and strict Descipline that never go loose, Joyful lectures and lots of activities, Each one has ample chance to show one‟s creativity. FINAL NOTE FOR MITS - - Viraj Mahajan Alumni MITS

It was 4 in the morning and I was about to sleep then my friend Vaibhav called

me and said, "Neeche aa,mai bike laike tera wait kar raha hu". And then, me

my friend Vaibhav went for a long bike ride. When I came back my clock was screaming and was showing me the time which we all hate. Time to go to col-

lege and give our semester exams. Yes my friends it was d night of my last

semester paper. So much we do in our college life, each and every moment is

worth preserving like d pearl in the Ocean. Every action leads us to trouble

which indeed is fun. We came alone, we'll leave alone is a wrong saying for

college life. We come with dreams, hope and excitement and we leave with

some changed paths, some unfulfilled dreams and lots of memories, and off

course with Broken Heart.

And it‟s the time for me and my mates to say final good bye to MITS family.

We learnt many things in our 4 years of BE, off course our RGPV syllabus

contain many weird subjects. But ya! We learnt to make friends, how to bunk

lectures, how to pass in the examinations and how to sing most beautiful songs of Kishore Kumar in the worst voice possible.

MITS gave me many things, wonderful friends, wonderful faculties and some

wonderful faces. In return I gave nothing, but today I‟m removing this red

mark from my so called "Generation Zero" I promise on the behalf of all my

final year friends that we'll miss MITS forever and we'll do ever thing so that

one day everyone will proudly say, You see those guys? They were my seniors/

classmate/student/juniors and today we are proud on them.

Now I‟m winding up, I‟ve to study 4 ma last sem. paper but in d end I want to

say only two things, “Jitna panda he padlo, asli padai exam k eek raat pehle hi

hoti he” and ”Its a bliss to spend college days with friends. Good luck!

Euphony Striation

Euphony Striation is the very own music band of MITS which was formed in the year 2008 by Keshav Kundal as the founder member, with the support of Prof. Vinay Saxena (Sr. Lecturer, MBA) and Dr. Vivek Bansod (Director, MIT) with a motive of providing a platform to the students to show their talents in the field of music. In its name, the word Euphony stands for “Harmoniousness” and the word Striation represents” A stripe or stripes of contrasting colours”, and in this way it symbolizes the band which is formed to spread harmony by its music and is not bounded to any spe-cific genre. This band plays a very important role in every cultural festival and special occasions being organized in the college campus and by now has achieved a good reputation in the campus. Soon after its formation, the band kept on jam-ming and performing in front of live audiences and won the Band Competition “Legato” which was organized by MIT in Technokumbh 2010. Soon after it in 2011, Euphony Striation then organized its own Band Competition under the ban-ner of MITS in Technokumbh 2011 and gave a guest performance being the organizer of the event. The band was also lucky to have performed in front of Hon'ble Digvijay Singh Ji in the 10 years excellence program of MIT. As we all know that in life, changes are inevitable and nothing is permanent. So with every passing batch, people use to leave the band as they get graduated from the college. The band also has tradition of organizing auditions for the fresh students becoming the part of MITS family every year so that equal opportunities can be provided to every stu-dent. Following the trend, this year also we organized auditions on 24th of September and some students were se-lected to represent the band in near future. Including the fresh members, presently the band comprises of 23 members and is coordinated by Yougansh Sharma (IT-IV yr) as Head Coordinator, Pulkit Phatale (EI-IV yr) as Sub- Coordinator and Priya Yadav (IT-IV yr) as organizer. The band is also governed by a team of faculty members who look after all the official matters and internal workings of the band and make sure that everything is being carried out in a well disciplined manner. This team comprises of Dr. Vivek Bansod (Director, MIT) as Patron, Prof. Rajesh Makhijani as Chief Coordinator, Prof. Amey Kant, Prof. Parvinder Singh Khanna, Prof. Vinit Tarey, Prof. Neelima Daga and Prof. Vinay Saxena as Coordinators. Good Manners At Work Place Realizing There Is No Excuse for Discourtesy Do manners matter at work? Should you really be expected to be polite all the time? …….keep this in mind, there is simply no excuse for bad manners. Whether you are interacting with a person higher or lower on the corporate hierarchy, giving feedback, issuing instructions or exerting power; good man-ners are an absolute necessity. If proper manners are fol-lowed, that will certainly create a magical impression at work-place. At workplace did you know that people look at your face first and your feet second? That is why it is so important to be well-groomed from head to toe. That is why your first reaction at workplace or anywhere must be a smile and eye contact. There are some basic manners and etiquettes, if taken care then can put in something to your success; Pay attention on how to carry a neat appearance Always respect all seniors using these basis terms “thank

you”, “please” and “you‟re welcome” Do not use flirty language at all. Improve your manners when speaking. check out some common etiquette mistakes and their solu-tions:

Never say "Yeah". It's "Yes" or preferably "Yes, please".

It's never "Huh?" or "What?”. It's "Pardon?"

Instead of "Nah", say "No, thank you."

Always use "May I...?" instead of "Can I?

Realize that manners are normal and healthy social conven-

tions that make interactions easier, more pleasant and bal-

Engineers Social Group ESG is a group formed by students of MITS on 19 November 2010. We feel privileged to share that today almost the whole MITS has become a part of ESG. As Mahatma Gandhi

quoted “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”; the highly spirited members of ESG are selflessly serving people by organizing events such as

“Blood Donation camp” in Oct. 2010 whereby 50 units of blood were donated

“Career Dreams” in which Dr. Rajkamal (Vice- Chan-cellor DAVV) delivered motivating lecture. Also Mr. Varun Gupta (head of PT education Ujjain)

shared some of the facts and mantras to achieve great heights with the students in Feb. 2011

This group was formed so that great mass of people shall be filled with the sense of responsibility for each other‟s wel-fare. We are thankful to its members for conducting such wonderful events for welfare of the society. Through this

Dennis Ritchie, founder of Unix and C, dies at 70

The world has lost another computer pioneer. Dennis

Ritchie, the computer scientist who invented the C pro-gramming language and co-developed the Unix operat-

ing system, has died at the age of 70.

While working at Bell Labs in the 1960s and early '70s, Ritchie served as the principal designer of C and

was the co-developer of the Unix operating system. C,

renowned for its clear, simple language, would become

a vital tool in website development, while Unix is the foundation for computer operat ing systems such as

Apples iOS.

1)StumbleUpon is a discovery engine (a form of web search engine) that finds and recommends

web content to its users. Its features allow users to discover and rate Web pages, photos, and videos that are personalized to their tastes and interests using peer-sourcing and social-networking principles.Toolbar versions exist for Firefox, Mozilla Application Suite, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, but Stumble-Upon also works with some independent Mozilla-based browsers. 2)Squidoo is a community website that allows users to create pages (called lenses) for subjects

of interest. Squidoo had 1.5 million hand-built lenses as of October, 2010.Squidoo is a user-generated website which uses the concept of a lens as its primary feature. The users who create lenses are called "lensmasters". A lensmaster can be anyone with an interest in a specific subject; they do not necessarily have to be externally-recognized experts. Squidoo contains lenses on 35 different topics, including Food & Cooking, Green Living, About Me and Business.

3)Technorati is an Internet search engine for searching blogs. The name Tech-

norati is a blend of the words technology and literati, which invokes the notion of technologi-cal intelligence or intellectualism. Technorati uses and contributes to open source software. Technorati was founded by Dave Sifry, with its headquarters in San Fran-cisco, California, USA. Tantek Çelik was the site's Chief Technologist.

TV SERIALS AND EXAMS-DOUBLE DOSE Exams are compulsory in our life because they are ”Kasauti Zindagi Ki”.A

teacher may sometimes oppose this “Kyonki teacher bhi kabhi student thi”.

There is nothing to worry about these exams because they are “Kahani

school-school ki”.Even there is a possibility that “Kahin kisi roz” these ex-ams are banned.Anyway,all this depends upon our “Kundali”.But still after

all arguments,one question remains in our mind that „Kyon hota hai

exam”.Well I can give a suggestion,try and try until you succeed after all,”Koshish e kasha hai”.The positive point is that they are to determine that

“Kisme kitna hai dam?” and “Kamzor kadi kaun?”Everyone sitting in the

examination hall prays that “Koi apna sa”,so we get a “Khauf” of getting into “Kashmakash” and then suddenly stop our “Kadam”,after all we should

not do such bad “Karam”.These exams really bring a heavy burden on our

minds but still “Kitne kool hai hum”.We all have a “Choti si asha” to pass

because “Kehta hai dil” don‟t let down the “kalash” of heritage.Don‟t worry how many times you fail,afterall “Hadsa” gives rise to “Kamaal”. All these

should be managed by us without seeing “Raah” of a “Sonpari” or

“Shaktiman” because doing so, you will be building up “Ek mahal ho sapno ka” but we should never do “Yatra” in dreams and always believe in

“haquiquat” so with an “Umeed” you have got my views . Wish you good

A TRIP TO LONDON WITH SOAPS AND DETERGENTS

Nirma and Chandrika were sisters. They had a brother named Jai and

a dog named Moti. The dog enjoyed bathing with Sasa, their neighbor‟s

rabbit.

One day their friend Camay from London invited them to England for a

holiday. They readily agreed.

On the plane they met Rexona, who was the elder sister of Rex, their

school friend. They were pleasantly surprised to see Evita who had come

from Argentina her birth place. Hamam, the elder brother Imam was sit-

ting in the last row of the plane clutching onto his musical instrument

Santoor, which was made of sandal wood from Mysore.RIN, and NRI in

their blue suit was sitting in the front of them. As the plane was ap-

proaching Heathrow airport and started its descent, they had a ariel view

of London and couldn‟t but marvel at their beauty they saw.

In the evening they went out for a drive in an open car with their friend at

the wheel. A gentle breeze was blowing and the sunlight was gradually

fading. On their way they were passed by a garden named Palmolive,

which had a lot of palms along with olive trees. They were surprised to

see Pears on the fruit tree in the same garden. Tired they rested under a

Neem tree and felt peaceful to see a dove sitting on it.

The trip next day to the Thames reminded them of their own Ganga way

back in India. The waves dashing against the rock formed Surf. They de-

cided to take a cruise in a boat named Wipro who had a professional

managing it, but only after their friend said Okay to their proposal. On

this cruise was Margo from India who believed in everything herbal.

They were overjoyed to see an Indian girl named lyril, who enjoyed lime

and waterfalls. One of them however, fell into the water but was rescued

with a life boy. The minor bruises were treated with Dettol. Everybody

thanked their lux as all returned safely to India.

Steve Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) The man who made "i" the most famous prefix in history, passed away on Wednesday after fighting with pancreas cancer for years. He was really a pioneer who made not one but two companies what they are today. One is Ap-ple as every one knows Jobs brought back to life another one is Pixar (The makes of Toy Story film series !!!), which is not that much known to be Jobs work. The tryst with India for this college dropout happened somewhere around the 1970s. He soon embraced Bud-dhism after coming to India, shaved his head.
