Youth Democracy Projects (Action 1.3) Overall Objectives:

1. To increase the consciousness of young people as active citizens by the development of representative democracy.

2. To raise the awareness of young people about the political and social problems.

3. To encourage young people for active participation and involve them to express themselves effectively, during the preparation of a new constitution rather than being passive about the issue.

4. To inform the Turkish youth about the EU establishment principles and the preparation process of EU Constitution.

Specific Objective:

To make contribution to the parts of the new constitution related to youth , which will be the first democratic and civil constitution of Turkey , by sharing experiences and suggestions with the help of 70 students from the universities from all over the country ,30 young people from Bulgaria, Greece and Romania.

Expected Outcomes1/2:

1. Young people's views and proposals about the new constitution discussed, and recommendations with new provisions in the constitution developed.

2. The parts of the eu constitution related to youth discussed,revised and reported by the young visiters who are from Greece, Romania and Bulgaria.

3. University-wide survey of youth carried out online in the framework of first democratic&civil new constitution in Turkey.

Expected Outcomes2/2:

4. Respect the constitution, at least 10 experts met with young people and diverse workshops regarding the new constitution and evaluation studies done, and studies that they did, reviewed and reported.

5. The new booklet developed according to the outputs and recommendations relating to youth on the Constitution.

6. On the subject, written and visual media and the public informed with social media tools, such as youth voice project website and any others.

7. Young people had the chance to make their voice heard by decision&policy makers in order to prepare a better youth policy.

Proposed Activities:

The proposed activities will be carried out in Konya together with all of the participants from 7 regions of Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece.

Please don't forget to bring with you your identity card (Schengen countries) or passport (non Schengen countries)

Please bring your printed electronic ticket or other original tickets with you and don’t lose the boarding pass that will be given to you at the check-in desk at the airport. We need the boarding pass as an evidence for your flight. If you lose it, you won’t be reimbursed of your flight ticket!

We shall provide breakfasts, lunches & dinners. So, you need only some euros pocket money for your personal expenses. You will have chance to see different bazaars, you may interest in shopping. The currency in Turkey is the Turkish Lira (TL). For currency you can search in google: Euro/TRY(Turkish Lira)
