There is so much to do, so much running around. Let the library ease some of that stress for you. We have a number of books to help you plan an enjoyable Thanksgiving Holiday. Is this you first time cooking Thanksgiving dinner? Check out “How To Cook A Turkey Dinner and all the Other Trimmings” from the editors and contributors of Fine Cooking or “Thanksgiving 101” by Rick Rodgers. Do you want a traditional Thanksgiving dinner but don’t know where to start? “Pleasures of Colonial Cooking” or “Thanksgiving Dinner” might be the right books for you. Struggling to figure out the right vegetarian meal for the holiday? “Vegetarian Times Complete Thanksgiving Cookbook” has it covered with several recipes for everything from appetizers to desserts. Do you want to be able to relax with your guests? “Happy Holidays from the Diva of Do-Ahead” will show you how to do just that. Kids can get involved and have fun too. Find inspiration in “Holiday Food Fun” with recipes like “Tuxedo Turkey” and “Indian Caramel Corn.” Beyond cookbooks we have several books on entertaining, table settings, and even napkin folding. Not cooking this year? Brush up on your history with “Mayflower” by Nathaniel Philbrick. Or escape into a story like “Thanksgiving” by Janet Evanovich. No one wants to cook? Peter’s Diner, Geets Diner, Taylor’s, Adelphia Restaurant, Villari’s Lakeside and Highlander Pub & Grill at Scotland Run Golf Club are all open on Thanksgiving. Remember to express your gratitude by sharing with those less fortunate. Next time you come into the Library to use a computer, borrow a book, or attend an event bring a non-perishable food item. We will bring all donated items to the Monroe Township Food Pantry to be distributed to those in need in our community.

Free Flu Shot
Monday, November 21st
1:30-3:00 PM
Gloucester County residents can come to the library for their
flu shot this year. Just sign up at the circulation desk and
bring proof of residency.
Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade The first Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia was held
in 1920 making it the longest running Thanksgiving Parade
in the country. Celebrating its 92nd year this year’s parade
will begin at 8:30 AM on Thanksgiving Day. Starting at
20th Street and JFK Boulvard and ending at the steps of the
Philadelphia Art Museum the parade will usher in the
Holiday season with floats, marching bands, musicians,
actors and actresses, local personalities, children’s
characters and of course Santa Claus.
Catch the parade in person or on channel 6 ABC and start
your holiday season off on the right foot.

On the third Thursday of every month the American Red Cross will be conducting a blood drive
in the Library Meeting Room. The date this month is Thursday, November 17, from 2:00-7:30

A Tea Seminar: Drink to Your Health This program includes a lecture on the history, culture and health
benefits of tea and reviews current recommendations for tea drinking. Four different types of tea will be discussed:
black, green, white and oolong. Tea and light refreshments will be served.
