The monitoring program has strong quality assurance elements built in to ensure that results are sound, reliable and useful. All groups are required to follow the same methods and use approved equipment to sample and then enter their results into the StreamWatch website. By engaging in the ecological investigation of local waterways, StreamWatch continues to act as an early warning system for pollution events, while the data provides a valuable record of waterway health. No experience is necessary – all equipment and training is provided.
