Jim Palzewicz, owner of ActionCOACH of Elm Grove, had his plans for growth laid out before him when he launched his franchise in April of 2004.

I still recall the day Jim showed up at the

Chamber office and declared, I want to join the Chamber! We had a pleasant conversation about his business, his goals, and the ways he could gain exposure through the chamber, etc. When he left, I recalled thinking, he’s got his work cut out for him.

As I talked with Jim in preparing this article, he admitted that at that time he had no idea what he was getting himself into. He knew he wanted to have an office of coaches, a stellar reputation and to be known as the business coaching company to go to in Brookfield and the suburbs.

Well, here we are five years later and he and his team have consistently grown the business over 50% year over year. When he started the business, he was it, the only coach and the entire marketing team - with his mother (a retired executive assistant) helping him out with the office

management side of things. Today they are a staff of five dedicated employees with three coaches – Jim’s brother Tom, joined the team in December 2004 and Chris Carmen joined them a year and a half ago. Jim and Tom’s mother has gone back to retirement and Kristy Schaff is their full time office/operations manager. They will be starting their 22nd class this November. For businesses over one million in annual revenue, they provide one on one coaching with business owners and their management teams. In addition to these two specific programs, they also offer a quarterly “Growth Club” which is an all day session for business owners to create their next 90 day plan. Their first Growth Club, in 2006 had 30 attendees; today this program averages 140+ attendees. This program is open to clients of the group and one on one coaching, as well as to any business that wants to gain focus on the next 90 days.

One last thing, they just moved into new offices at 13150 Watertown Plank Road, Suite 200. Please join the Chamber at ActionCOACH’s open house on Thursday, October 8 from 4 – 6 pm celebrating their new home with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30 pm.
