October Events Calendar Member of The Month APhA - ASP UMES School Of Pharmacy & Health Professions Presents The annual faculty served breakfast marked the beginning of a 31 day celebration of the unique contribution the pharmacy profes- sion brings to health care. With the theme “ Know your pharma- cist, know your medication” the month of October is a time to reiterate the benefits of a drug expert on the medical team. UMES School of Pharmacy and its APhA-ASP chapter has a line up of activities aimed at showing to our campus and community the importance of talking to a pharmacist. As the American Pharma- cists Association puts it, “student pharmacist, you should give your campus a crash course on the importance of pharmacy”. Announcements
The operation heart and diabetes event sched-
uled for October 3rd will consist of BMI assess-
ments, BP screenings, diabetic risk assessments
and diabetic foot exams. There w ill be space for
only 4 volunteers per timeslot. Considering location, the
event organizer’s recommendation is to carpool.
Participants are needed for the MPhA video contest. Em ail Gspark@um es.edu if interested.
