A Message from President of Sungsim School Foundation

Since its establishment in 1973, the Sungsim Foundation has built a renowned private institution of

higher education of history and tradition in Southeastern region of Korea. It has contributed greatly

through various educational and other missions for the public. In the past 33 years, the foundation has

led Youngsan University to develop into a major institution nurturing global talents in the pursuit of the

ideal of “Seeking Truth from Facts”

Youngsan University was established by the founders Bonghwan Bu (1921-1993) and Yongsook Park

(1927-2009) who sought to realize of the ideal of “Self-interest is in the Realization of Others' Interest."

The founding philosophy of Youngsan University are Hongik Ingan [to Benefit All Mankind Far and

Wide] and Wonyung Muae [Perfect Freedom by Enlightenment]. These ideal guide us to nurture

talented individuals who will make important contributions to the society, country and all mankind.

The Sungsim Foundation will provide leadership for Youngsan University to offer education befitting

its founding tenets, to nurture individuals with practical wisdom, and to continue to grow in the rapidly

changing world.

The Sungsim Foundation will provide the world stage on which students, faculty, staff, and alumni can

Youngsan University strives to nurture practical oriented and talented individuals who will be tomorrow’s CEOs of small but strong enterprises and lawyers with specialized fields. Our lawyers will combine their legal training and specialized knowledge to create dynamic businesses.

Through this program, students have opportunities to study at the sister universities of YSU with their accepted credits. The tuition fee will be waived for guest students participating in the student exchange program by their host universities.

Semester Abroad Program

A semester abroad program with the sister universities is designed to send students in College of Foreign Languages overseas as a part of regular curriculums.

Dual Degree Program

Students study abroad their last two years after completing their first two years from their home university.
