theNetherlands,theFestivalorganisershaveallowedyoungadvertising
professionals(upto28yearsold)toattendtheInternationalAdvertising
FestivalinCannesbyofferingthemareducedregistrationrate,discounted
hotelaccommodation,grouptravelarrangements,andbyencouraging
varioussponsors(mediacompanies,tradepublications,production
houses,etc.)tosupportthemandmakethetripmoreaffordable.
Thenumberofcountriesinterestedinparticipatinghasincreased
tremendouslyovertheyears.ThankstothespecialYoungCreatives
package,over700YoungLionsfrom66differentcountriesattendedlast
year’sevent.

•Teamswillworkmoreefficientlyiftheyarealreadyfamiliarwiththe

• TheFestivalprovidessometechnicalsupporttohelptheteamsduring
thecompetition,butself-sufficientteamswillworkmorequickly
• Noexternalhelporinfluenceispermitted
• Accesstothecompetitionareaisstrictlycontrolled:onlytheteam

Teamswillbemadeupoftwoyoungmarketersfromaclientorganisation
aged30yearsorunder(bornonorafter26June1980).
Eachteamwillbeexpectedto:
• Produceabrief(maximumtwopages)thatwouldbepresentedto
anadvertisingagency.Forthiscompetition,theadvertisingagencyis
representedbyaselectjuryofCreativesandStrategists
• Giveamaximumfive-minutepresentationtothejuryusingPowerPoint.
Amaximumofeightslidesareallowed(titleslideoptional-mustform
partofeightslides).Thejurywillhaveamaximumoffiveminutestoask
questionsimmediatelyfollowingthepresentation
Teamswillbejudgedontheclarityofthebrief:theknowledgeitdisplaysabout
theproduct/service,theclientorganisationanditsaims,andthespecificaimsof
thecampaign.ThecompetitionwillbejudgedbytheCreativesandStrategists
selectedbytheFestival.
Pleasenotethat,toensureafaircompetition,thedetailsoftheproduct/
serviceforwhichtheteamsneedtocompilethebriefwillremainasecret
untiltheFestival.
