AGHIOI ANARGIROIOUR NEIGHBOURHOODAghioi Anargiroi, named after the same church, is a relatively new district. In ancient years the region was part of the Great Olive Grove of Athens. An olive tree behind the church (Peisistratos olive tree) is what remains of that ancient olive grove. It is more than 2500 years old and a natural monumentIn early 20th century only 10 houses are recorded. in the area there are cultivated fields, which belong to members of the Athenian high class. The solid group of inhabitants that came from the island of Mykonos has given the name of the area where our school is located (Mykoniatika).

THE TRITSIS PARK

At the northern borders of the municipality lays the biggest urban park of Greece: The «Εcological Sensitization park of Antonis Tritsis».Originally hosting the royal fields of queen Amalia of Bavaria, the property passed into private interest since 1870.There are enough elements reminding this period of time. Among them, of course, the Tower of Queen Amalia, the royal mansion replacing an older tower. This building is a speciment of Gothic architecture, after the Hohen Schwangau tower where King Otto of Bavaria (the first King of modern Greece) was born.

1ST VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF AGHIOI ANARGIROI

Our school is located on the borders of Athens, Aghioi Anargiroi and Peristeri, the third largest municipality of Attica below Athens and Piraeus. Between the ancient river Kifissos (now the highway to the north) and Fleva, its tributary. The school was founded in 1977 as a secondary technical school and based on a building along the highway. In 2002 moved in the recent built complex, which hosts 3 buildings: the administration offices and a multiuse auditorium, the teaching classrooms and the laboratories.

The same building hosts also the Evening Vocational School. This year 420 students attend the school and can choose among 6 specializations: informatics, electronics, electrologists, car mechanics, clima mechanics, nursery. This last specialization, the most popular among the students, especially girls, from next year will no longer exist, due to the financial cuts.
