RULES FOR CONSIDERATION OF PRESENTATION OF HAURAKI DISTRICT COUNCIL YOUNG ACHIEVER AWARD: Eligibility

To be eligible for presentation of this Award, a nominee shall meet the following criteria:

The nominee must be resident in the District at the time the services were rendered.

The nominee must be between the ages of 13 and 25 at the closing date for nominations.

The services for which the nominee is recommended must be related to activity within the Hauraki District, or activity directly benefiting the Hauraki District.

A nomination may be withdrawn if, in the opinion of the judges, the required standard has not been achieved.

Awards will not be made where nominees have been rewarded by payment of wages for services rendered.

Awards will not be presented posthumously.

Previous recipients of this award are not eligible.

Awards will be granted:

For achievement in and not limited to any of the following:

community service

arts or culture

Leadership or Enterprise

Academic Field

Sport or Recreation

After presentation of a nomination by at least two nominators.

After consideration by a special awards working party of the Council charged to investigate the circumstances of the nomination.

After a formal motion passed by the Council to make the award in accordance with the report of the special awards working party.

The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Presentation of any award will be made at a Council organised function subsequent to the selection of the successful nominees.
