You stand waiting for a bus … Having waited a shade over two months between Issues 10 and 11, here we are 7 days later and there’s another one! The reason for this being that the date for the Former Players Reunion has been confirmed, and it is not as I guessed last week. See separate panel later on for details. In the meantime, here’s a photograph of Adrian Carne singing “Under the Moon of Love”. Having re-read the last issue, sadly after distribution, I was shocked to the core when I read “…failed to illicit a response”. Of course it should have read “elicit a response”. I have since fired the proof reader for not being pacific enough. I also made liberal references to Midlands 2 East when of course I should have been referring to Midlands 1 East…. and it turns out that Wellingborough didn’t get relegated. I blame the RFU for continuously buggering around with the League structure.

This has been confirmed as 4th November 2018 on the day of the 1st XV’s home
fixture with Wellingborough. The pre-match lunch will take place at 12.30 (possibly
12.00) and tables of 10 or 12 are available for booking. The per head cost is £15.00
If you would like to book a table to fill please send a cheque for £150 or £180 to
Richard Dillamore, LBRFC, Wright’s Meadow, Leighton Road, Stanbridge, LU7 9HR.
If you want to book a single slot, again send a cheque for £15. Your cheque will book
your table/place. Dilly’s procedure is that he doesn’t bank the cheques until the week
before the lunch, so there’s your cash flow worries sorted.
If you can’t make the lunch then at least come along at some point of the afternoon.
Have a think about it. In the meantime, here is a photo of Chinny singing “Smack My
Bitch Up”

Interesting Facts
The current Lions tour will be done and dusted in 35 days. Conversely in 1971, the only time the Lions won a series
in New Zealand, there were 45 days between the first tour match against Queensland and the first test in Dunedin,
with the last test of four 6 weeks after that.
Since Clive Woodward became England coach in October 1997 England has capped six players with double barrelled
surnames: James Simpson-Daniel, Paul Doran-Jones, Luke Cowan-Dickie, Steve White-Cooper, Jordan Turner-Hall and
Richard Pool-Jones. Doesn’t seem to promote a long run as they only have 25 caps between them.
In terms of time span, Simon Shaw has the longest England test career: 14 years, 10 months and 15 days
Victor Ubogu’s middle name is Eriakpo (remember that one Rod?)
