▫Examples: Ancient Greece, USA (at local level)
Republic
•System of government in which citizens have the right to vote for leaders to REPRESENT them.
•Examples: U.S. Federal Government, Australia, Germany, France, etc.
Constitutional Monarchy
•Government with legislative branches and ceremonial figureheads.
•Examples: United Kingdom, Japan, Jordan, Spain, Denmark
Absolute Monarchy
•Ruler who has complete authority over the government and the lives of the people; position is INHERITED
•Examples: Saudi Arabia, Swaziland, United Arab Emirates,
Oligarchy•Government in which a small group exercises equal control—from the Greek “few” and “rule.”
•Examples: Apartheid South Africa, post USSR Russia

•Form of government in which priests or religious leaders serve as kings—Religion rules
