Non-Vegetarian:Suppression of goodhuman sentiments

Shashwat Pragya

Meat- eating represses kindness, passion, love and other goodhuman tendencies.

is a beautiful instance of Maharshi Charak. Once he asked from his disciples-Koruk, Koruk, Koruk (means tell me who is not ill but healthy). To this one of his

pupil Vagbhatt replied- Hit-bhuk,Mit-bhuk and Ritu-bhuk. Means a person who takes proper, calculated and balanced diet, chosen according to the season is the healthy person. A personshall prepare diet chart according to his nature (knowing about vat, pitt and kapha). The dietdecides the tendency and the nature of a human being. Vegetarian makes a human calm whilenon-vegetarian incites violence. As far as nature is concerned, in a vat nature with gastrictroubles, person shall avoid rice and other products, which adds to the gastric problem. Suchtendency persons shall also avoid diet with bitter character and use more of ginger, `pippali`.Human beings with pitta nature shall avoid hot, roasted products and rely more on bottlegourd, cucumber and raw food. Persons with kapha tendency shall avoid excess use of coldcharacter edibles like rice, curd, butter- milk. When diet is prepared based on the season, dis-eases keep away. Moreover taking meal at fix time in routine is very helpful. Untimely eat-ing causes diseases.

In morning 8 am to 9 am take light diet like juice or fruits. More the restricted use ofgrains in the morning hours, more it is beneficial to the body. Persons above 50 years of ageshall totally avoid grains in the morning. Lunch shall be taken in for-noon hours, between 11am to 12 noons. Taking lunch between 12 to 1 pm is considered acceptable but after 1 pm isharmful. Dinner is better between 7 and 8 in evening. Dinner between 8 pm to 9 pm is accept-able but after it, as Yoga science suggests, is harmful. It is better to avoid talking during meals,as it is difficult to crunch it properly besides the talking could cause over-eating. Meal shallalways be crunched properly. One morsel shall be munched at least 20 times.

Even the violent tendency in a human being is also suppressed if morsel is munched prop-erly. A couplet in Sanskrit says a person waking-up in morning and takes light diet, take milkafter dinner and butter milk after lunch does not need doctor for the life. Avoid use of eggsand meat in diet. The almighty has made us vegetarian. When we can survive without killinganyone then why to kill any creature just for the sake of taste. It is better to die than living onnon-vegetarian diet. Meat eating suppresses kindness, compassion, love, sympathy and dedi-cation. Man turns into demon. His stomach is like a crematorium.

Swabhiman Yatra has been inaugurated from Dwarika (Gujarat). Dwarika is the land toremember for - Paritranaya, Sadhunam, Vinashaya cha Dushkratam Yada, yada hi dhar-

masya glanirbhavatibharat. From Dwarika only, Lord Sri Krishna 5200 years ago, established the ruleof truth defeating injustice, sin and corruption prevalent in the society and nation, simultaneously beingfree from the greed of rule and throne. Likewise, presently, our nation is surrounded by almost the sameproblems. The national character is receding fast. Corruption, black money, rotten system, conspiracyof multi-nationals are playing key role in the degradation of the country. In such odd circumstances, withno ray of hope, Most revered Swami Ramdevji Maharaj is trying hard to make nation disease and intox-icant-free with main objective of bringing remarkable change in the ineffective system.

300 lakh crore rupees in foreignnations. If this money is brought backto the country, poverty could disappearin a single day with creation of the bestnation. Swamiji has dreamt to eradicatepoverty from the nation and he is mak-ing all efforts to realize it.

According to human developmentreport, India's standing is at 134 posi-tions. This report is prepared on thebasis of the basic amenities and livingstandards of the residents. This isenough to prove the poor condition ofour country at world scenario. Thescene is equally pitiful at social justicescenario. In different courts3,33,05,845 cases are pending.According to the retired Chief Justiceof High Court JS Verma, another 350years are needed to dispose the pendingcases. And regularly new cases arepouring-in. How will such a large num-ber of people would get instant justice?

Every nationalist is feeling sad anddown-hearted when he watchesgarbage littering everywhere, helpless-ness, hopelessness, naxalism, Maoismbecoming a part of life. Furthermore, there is strong conspiracy to damageour culture, spiritualism and evenwomen folks.

Swami Ramdev has embarked onBharat Swabhiman Yatra. The objec-tive is to bring effective change in theaging and rancid administrative systemof the country and to infuse new life inits economy.

Impressed by the honest efforts madeby the Baba Ramdevji Maharaj, thou-sands, lakhs of persons are takingpledge to remain free from drugs andintoxicants. Baba Ramdevji Maharaj isworking round-the-clock against cor-ruption, black money, subversive sys-tem and conspiracy of the multi-nation-als. India which once led the entireworld with its economical and spiritualphilosophies is losing its glory. In Indiawhich was once, at the top of glory andprosperity, now 83.60 crore people areliving below poverty line. They havedaily average income of meager Rs 20.

The nation which was once knownfor morality and ethics is now knownfor corruption and immorality. Themost unfortunate thing is that, there isno clear, strong and far-sighted policyof the Government to stop populationcontrol, which is the basic cause of theproblem and hence 2,38,39,945 chil-dren take birth every year (based on areport of Census department).

Baba Ramdevji maharaj hasembarked on Bharat Swabhiman Yatrawith pledge to bring social and eco-nomical justice and nation building viacharacter building. On the social fronteven after 64 years of independence, 84crore people are deprived of the basicamenities like roti, kapada and makan(food, cloths and shelter). Daily 20,000and 60 lakh annually lose their life dueto starvation. 60.95 lakh children diedue to malnutrition and poor livingconditions. Is it not a matter of greatshame?

A University Grant Commission(UGC) report says in the state andnational universities over 50 percentposts are vacant. The Government isfailing to provide basic health ameni-ties to the common man. To providebetter medical facilities, the nationneeds 6 lakh doctors, 10 lakh nursesand 2 lakh dentists additionally. In ourcountry only 44 percent houses areelectrified rest 56 per cent are living indarkness. 50 percent people do nothave facility of pure drinking water.Owing to poor water management halfof the nation is reeling under flood con-ditions while other half facing droughtproblem. After independence, the roadshave increased by 7 percent but thevehicle density has gone up by 281 per-cent. This is the reason why scores ofpersons are dying in road accidents reg-ularly. The diesel of worth Rs one lakhcrore is burnt and many persons areaffected due to pollution. Due to poorroad condition 50 percent of the per-sons are suffering from groin pain. Thelife of vehicles is decreasing. Due totraffic congestion, half the life of ahuman being in India is spent on roads. This time could have been utilized inthe national development.

Baba Ramdevji Maharaj has undertak-en the Bharat Swabhiman Yatra withobjective to revive the lost glory. TheYatra will pass through 600 districts, thousands tahsils and lakhs of villagesof the nation. Swamiji is making effortto revive the lost self-respect, characterand dignity and to re-establish thenation as the economic and spiritualpower in the world. During the BharatSwabhiman campaign, 600 villages in600 districts would be short listed forBharat Swabhiman Gramotthan Yojnaand Patanjali Gramodhyog Yojna andthe people would be enriched withhealthy, prosperous, self-dependent andcultured in phases.

The Bharat Swabhiman Yatra hastwo streams and five objectives. Theobjectives are to eradicate malpractice, black money and poor system, to makeefforts to bring back Rs 300 lakh crore, which has been deposited by a fewcrooks in foreign banks and to meet thechallenges posed by multi-nationals totake away India's wealth to theirnations. The two streams includingbuilding the character of the citizen asan individual and thus making the char-acter of entire nation strong. The sonsof saints of culturally rich nation arebehaving like demons. The decedentsof Sri Ram and Lord Krishna arebehaving like Ravana and Kans. Nowthe time has ripe to uplift the nation andcitizens with full efficiency so that thedream of India becoming the superpower could be realized.

Yoga Guru SwamiRamdev haspledged to reviveAyurveda and Yogaand thus to injectnew strength into theveins of the coun-try....

Swamiji's objective inentering politics albeitindirectly is to bringchange in the rottenadministration systemand even judicial system. His objective is to intro-duce a new system alto-gether to bring vitalchange in the living stan-dard of each individualIndian.

Baba Ramdev is now much popular not only atnational level but also at international level. He isknown as Yoga Guru. He is trying to popularizeage-old tradition of Yoga, which was on the vergeof extinction to match it with modern era. And hehas succeeded up to a large extent. He has re-estab-lish Ayurveda as an important and useful branch ofmedicine. Since last many years he is travelingacross the length and breadth of the nation, makingpeople aware of the benefits of Ayurveda. It is thebranch of medicine in which stress is laid onmedicinal natural products and not prepared inpharmaceutical companies. The efforts of BabaRamdev have paid dividends and now - Yoga andAyurveda have become immense popular among alarge cross section of the society. Baba Ramdev is serving the society through hissocial and cultural efforts. He believes that revivingthe fundamentals of Indian culture would not onlydevelop our country as a strong and progressivenation but could help in establishing a peaceful

It is alwaysclaimed that thenation is progress-ing leaps andbounds. world. To achieve th e target he has decided to enterpolitics albeit indirectly. He has declared that hisorganization Bharat Swabhiman would contestParliament election to be held in 2014 but he him-self would not accept any post nor contest election. But he would ensure that persons with spotlesscharacter, considerate, thoughtful enter the politicsto serve the nation. His sole objective is to re-establish Indian values, which have been forgotten in the attraction of west-ern culture and branding it as age-old. His ideologyis not restricted to some religion, caste, creed orcommunity but it is purely an Indian. He believesthat Indian values are effective in every era and inevery part of the world. The biggest concern ofBaba Ramdevji Maharaj is that the nation is neck-dipped in corruption. Deep dissatisfaction, depres-sion, crime, injustice, suppression has becomeorder of the life as a result many persons are unem-ployed and poverty ridden and children developingweak due to malnutrition. Politics, either rulingpart or the opposition has become puppet at thehands of a handful of political leaders. Most of theadministrative offices consider common man astheir foot wears. It is really shameful that Indiastands very high in the list of most corrupt nationsin the world. There is series of scandals. It is not wrong to say that whatever sacrifice ourancestors have given to get the nation free from theshackles of the British people has been devalued.Lakhs of crores of money has been deposited inSwiss banks. Baba Ramdev has promised to bringthis money back to the nation. The money is sohuge that it could not only pay all the foreign debtsbut also get rid of poverty of the nation. The firstpolitical objective of Baba Ramdev is to turn nationa corruption free and develop such a system whereirregularities and wrong deeds would have noplace. He is trying to develop a system for the peo-ple and by the people. He also believes that the growth and progress of thenation shall stand on the traditional culture and civ-ilization. Thus we would have to avoid western cul-ture, which is hell bound to de-mean the Indian val-ues and system. This nation has been, since decadesbased on rural based economy. Hence the new for-mula of economy shall be based on the sameground. In 70s era, Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayansowed the sapling of total revolution and now BabaRamdev is trying to revive the same movement. His political philosophy is based on the thoughts ofIndian seers and he want to construct a new Indiaon its pillars.

When Shri Arvind narrated Yoga asthe summary of life, several lakhs people asso-ciated with him. The third couplet of chapter 11 inTaitiriyoparishad speaks out the same. Meaning:When during performing your duties if somedoubt arises to perform your duty honestly andfail to take decision on your own wisdom, thenbehave in a manner in which one person withgood character, good conduct behaves. Takesuggestions from such well manner and wellbehaved persons. When a person has beenaccused of something and you have doubts totake action against him, behave in the mannerin which polite, experts and good conduct peo-ple act in such circumstances. This is the orderof the shastras. It is very clear that when indoubt follow persons with good conduct.

Lord Krishna says O Arjuna in the spiritualworlds, the heavenly world and the materialworlds there is not prescribed duty for me nei-ther anything to be obtained or unattained. Yetstill I am engaged in prescribed activities. Forutmost intelligent person, there is no need towork but still he has to perform karma. (22).O Arjuna if even I would not engage in pre-

scribed activities certainly all men would fol-low my path in all aspects. The Lord has givenself example for a free person, which has deepmeaning. By not setting the example of what isrighteous and by not following the traditionsand customs established by performing theactivities prescribed in the Vedic scripturesthen all humanity would deviate from right-eousness and become totally lost. If LordKrishna failed to respect the injunctions andprohibitions of the Vedic scriptures then theentire world would take that to be the standardof righteousness and the final verdict.

(23).If I cease to perform prescribed actions theinhabitants of the entire world would be putinto ruin and I would be the cause of unvirtuouspopulation and would destroy all these livingentities. Thus Oh Arjuna, continue to performkarma even if you have adequate knowledge.

We all know what pain or aches is as atone point or the other everyone hasexperienced it. A child screams, due tostomach ache. When children play, theyget injured and even a life of an adult isfull of risks. With the old age come dif-ferent problems, causing body pain. The joints weaken at ripe ages whichcause trouble in daily movements. But the question is whether pain is ben-eficial or harmful? And most of us,without second thought would sayharmful. But probably the answer is notcorrect. Pain or aches are good forbody. Basically it gives indication whatis stored for future? It indicates whatproblems the body is likely to face infuture. Pain is a sort of indication that inthe body everything is not correct. When a person gets burn injury, he feelsuneasiness and burning sensation. Justthink if this pain would not cause, would you go immediately for treat-ment? Perhaps no. And when an injuryis not taken care of, the seriousnessincreases. Thus injury indicates thateverything is not normal and thus actsas alarming bell. Thus, a person shall never ignore painas it is string indication of what is instore. It is the foremost caution inhealth matters that get treatment at thebeginning stage. Thus pain shows thebeginning of the problem. And nevertry to get medicines at your own.Consult better doctor and get properand authentic treatment. Just guess thatyou have diagnosed the problem. Now

you want to know that whether Yogahelps in getting remedy. Answer is yes.Yoga is for sure helpful in getting treat-ment. But there are different exercisesfor different ailments. Now if pain isdue to arthritis or due to injury, differ-ent set of asanas would be suggested. There are many exercises, which helpsin reducing the pain. First let us understand, how the painoccurs? In case of any injury or adversecondition, message is sent to brain.Soon afterwards, the neuron of thebrain gets into action to experiencepain. Now the question is what could bedone to reduce the pain? One way is tosend good messages to the brainthrough Yoga could help in reducingthe pain. When a person performsyoga, he stretches his muscles and thebody. These pulled muscles send mes-sage to the body. Though, these mes-sages are not adverse messages that theparticular part of the body has devel-oped some complications. But thesemessages overcome the messages ofpains sent to the brain. Thus, a persononly experiences the pain caused bystretching the muscles during Yoga andnot the pain caused due to injury or theproblem. But a person shall knowwhich asana is useful in which type ofpain and also which asana has to beavoided. Many exercises always send good sig-nals to the brain are anulom-vilom andpranayam. Similarly bhramri also gen-erates a certain amount of chemical inbrain, which lessens the feel of pain. Thus there are some exercises whichare useful in every type of pain but fordifferent pains, different types ofasanas are suggested. For example -yoga exercise suggested for paincaused in ankle due to austio arthritiswould be different from the pain due toplaying injury.

Conclusion It is true that Yoga could do much inreducing the pain. Thus exercise Yogaregularly and experience its benefits.

Pain or achesis an indica-tion of imbal-ance in thebody. Whenpain developsin any partmeans some-thing wrong ishappeninginside. Theseindicationsare sufficientto make alerttowards theproblem. Afterdiagnosingthe problem,we could takethe help ofYoga to getremedy.

Diseases of old ages

is not a curse. With growing age, many changes occur in the body. Due to lack ofknowledge and reducing resistance power within the body result into many diseases.Weakness, intolerance, irritability, insensitivity, confusion, falling while movement, pains in joints and bones and many other symptoms develop in a person with old age.

Old-age

Such persons lack peace, happiness, pleasure and health. Even physicalability, activity and enthusiasm recedein the life.Age is also of different typesActual age, biological age, mental age, morale age, spiritual age, sentimentalage and social age.

Actual or chronological ageChrono means the actual time of birth. It is the actual time and till now, the

chronological age is measured. Thebiological age depends on bodyorgans, heart, brain, kidneys, bones, blood, nerves and digestive system.Means it is the activity of the body, which reflects the age.

Psychological ageThe mental age depends on the devel-opment of brain and mind. Some per-sons exists who are more in age butbehave like children. They lack intelli-

There are sev-eral phases ofthe life and thelast phase ismuch sensitive.During old age, many diseasesattack the bodyand hamper thedaily routinebadly. To runthe body sys-tem normal, exercise bal-anced diet, con-trolled routineand yoga.

In the Institute, several stud-ies andresearchesare being con-ducted. Manyexperimentshave beenconducted onthe workers, who willinglycame forwardand most ofthe research-es and studieshave shownpositiveresults. Theexperimentsare perfect onthe medical, yoga and sci-ence yard-sticks.Scientific opin-ion regardingthese studiesalso proved itsrelevance andperfection ascompared toother streamsof treatment.

gence, courage, patience and bravery. They do not have decision makingpower. Thus their psychological age isless. The persons whose psychologicalage is more are filled with energy. They are courageous, intelligence andbrave and have immense power totake decision. They have the efficien-cy to convert impossible into possible.Psychological age of a human beingreflects in the work style, conversa-tion, behavior and thought process.

Emotional ageHow fast could we control our emo-tions. Uncontrollable sentiments andhabit of getting influenced in senti-ments effects real and biological age.In which age we dedicate our life formorale values. Morale values includelove, affection, service, sacrifice, cooperation, coordination courtesy andother such characters make a personmore prosperous in emotional age. Thus a youth of 25 years could beprosperous in emotional age and evenan older person with 75 years agecould be weak in this aspect.

Spiritual ageSpiritual age too is not bound with theage. Swami Ramtheerth, Vivekanand,Maharshi Arvind, Shankaracharya andBauddha besides others reached at thetop of spiritualism at a very youngage. Their real age was too less butspiritually they had achieved a lot. Many persons turned leaders at veryyoung age. Veer Bhagat Singh,Subhash Chandra Bose, John FCanedy are the examples. The chronological age of any two per-sons could be equal but not the biolog-ical, emotional, spiritual, ethical or thesocial age. Except chronological ageother ages depends on the environ-ment, diet, thought, up-bringing,yogasana, pranayam and meditation. All the ages depends on the activity ofthe brain. More we utilize the brain, more it is active. The chronologicaland biological age of a human beingdepends on the living style, diet, livingstyle, thoughts, behavior and attitude.

In the developed nations the averageage has increased by 5-16 percent andby 2025, it would enhance by 25 per-cent. In future more older personswould be seen as compared to teen-agers. In developed countries the aver-age age of male is 80 years and that offemale is 86 years. The nations havingaverage age between 75-80 includeHongkong, Australia, Canada,America, England and Japan. Theaverage age has increased inBangladesh, Nigeria, Pakistan, India,Srilanka and China but still it is less ascompared to the developed nations.

The mortality rate is highestin Afghanistan 165 per thousand chil-dren and the least is in Singapore andIceland, 2 per thousand infants. The lucky ones are very few whoseold age spends in happiness withoutany trouble. With increasing age, physical, mental and sentimentalchanges occur in the body and theolder persons consider themselvesmore insecure and helpless. Withincreasing age many changes in thebody occur according to the science.Brain and nerve system - After 45years, daily 1,000 cells get damageafter turning inactive. Many cranialnerves get degenerated and due tonureo loss organic confusion increas-es. Due to degeneration in cranialnerves, person finds difficulty in hear-ing, vision, taste, touch and other sens-es. Like cocklier degeneration causespressbiocusis (hearing high tone hearloss). With increasing age blood supply inbrain also decreases. Due to change inchemical formation in blood nervesand endothelial function, the bloodsupply to the brain disrupts. The prob-ability of brain hemorrhage, thrombo-sis and stroke also increases. In a nor-mal human being brain five lakhcoloured nigra cells are present, whichhelp in the formation of dopamine. But with increasing age due to coalgas poisoning these cells get damagedcausing Parkinson diseases. In thebrain of some persons amilite betaemilite polypeptide develops problemscausing elgemers and dimensia.During old age, high bold pressure, diabetes and more weight causeimmense problems. With increasingage cognitive performance, functionand ability also gets disturbed. Theintelligence of a person diminishes. The ability to sit, stand and movementlessens. The American Senator Silvestor Clarkhas given a statement in the New YorkTimes on March 18, 1989. In the state-ment, it is said that the decisionsregarding the foreign policy are beingtaken by these multi-nationals.Thestatement clearly says that there is nomeaning of the Government's decisionin deciding foreign and other policies. The newspaper also said that privatebanks, without public debate or inter-ference of elected representativespreparing foreign policies of America. One example makes the point moreclear. Xerox, the company preparingphotocopiers has declined many timesto meet the officials of Federal Bureauof Investigation (FBI). These officialswanted some information from thecompany office bearers. The ManagingCommittee of Xerox Company hasclearly stated that the Federal TradeCommission of America is not the

proper forum to deal with the problemsbeing faced by the multi-nationals. Another American Senator MerryGoldwater had recently while speakingin the senate said that the multi-nation-als are playing the same role, previous-ly CIA used to play. The Americancompanies gather secret informationfor the Government in a better manner. The reason for the defamation of multi-nationals is that they indulge in crimeand secret activities indirectly. And thefact is there is no national or interna-tional bigger controversy behind whichthe hand of multi-nationals is not sus-pected. And these companies act tough, ruthless and mercilessly against theleaders who does not fall in line. In1972, a major conspiracy was hatchedat the behest of Pepsicola and ITTagainst the elected Government inChile. The President of Chile DrSalvador Allende and his 14 Cabinetministers were killed. Even the famouspoet Pablo Naruda was not spared inthe bloodshed and murdered brutally.

There is deeprelationshipbetween theGovernmentsand thesemulti-nation-als behindthe curtain.Even theGovernmentpolicies aredecided ontheir advice.

Politicalinterference

way to control the politics of a nation is to controlthe economy of that nation. The multi-nationals

have adopted the same game plan and philosophy inmany nations. The influx of these multi-nationals is a seri-ous threat to the sovereignty and independence of anynation. The manner in which these companies trade; theydamage the trade structure of that particular nation. Thesovereignty, policy, power, integrity of the state is dis-turbed due to trade tactics of these multi-national compa-nies. The policies of the nation are being decided on thesuggestion and advice of these multi-nationals.

Pahalvi and since then the problems ofIran began. It ultimately led to Iran-Iraqfull blown war. The declaration of end-ing of war was a setback to Lockheed,an American firm, which was sellingarms to both, Iran and Iraq. After thewar ended, this company led to internalwar in the nation. It distributed arms toMujahedeen in Iran and encouragedthem against the elected Government. These Mujahedeen gathered at the Iran-Afghanistan border. Later they removethe Government in Afghanistan. ThenRussian interfered in the Afghanistan. All these activities led to massacre, which is still continuing. Now in Afghanistan economy has col-lapsed and a once a developing nationhas devastated totally. Many organiza-tions of Mujahedeen are getting armsfrom American companies. AmericanGovernment has made many factions inAfghanistan dreaming that they wouldform the Government and hence thereis no peace. All the factions are fightingbitterly against one other. And since itall is in the interest of US companies, itis continuing unabated. Political relationshipIn a meeting of economical cooperationand development on February 26,1976, demand to frame a code wasmade to consider bribe and corruptionas illegal. But the then President ofAmerica opposed it tooth to nail. Heurged that at international level, actionagainst corruption shall be optional andbased on personal moral inspiration. His basic concern was that theAmerican firms could plunge intosevere loss and hence, he opposed itand the code could not be turn into real-ity. And obviously, the President wasunder pressure from the multi-nationalcompanies. The then AmericanPresident managed support of 24 othernations and opposed the anti-corruptionproposal. Ironically in the same period,American company Lockheed wascharge-sheeted for corruption and thecase continued for 2 years and 6

The conspiracy was hatched becauseDr. Salvador was opposed to the multi-nationals and making efforts to get freefrom the claws of these companies.Just a few hours before being killed DrAllende had, on the forum of UnitedNations Organisation (UNO) urged tosave his nation from the clutches ofmulti-nationals. And after deliveringhis speech in UNO, when he returnedback to the nation, he was over-thrownin the coup and killed ultimately. Likewise, coup staged in Brazil,Bolivia and Guatemala, the conspira-cies to overthrow the Governmentswere hatched by American multi-nationals. Nicaragua is facing deep cri-sis since past four decades and ofcourse these American companies areresponsible for the sufferings. In Al-Salvador massacres are still goingunabated which started at the behest ofAmerican firms. In Iran, multi-nation-als got access, when the nation wasunder the regime of Ahmad Raza Shah

It paid Rs 224 lakhdollar as bribe to the heads of 19nations and other influential persons. Itis very clear what was the relationshipbetween multi-nationals and theAmerican President and why heopposed the draft of anti-corruptioncode? These politicians not only advocatethem but also try to safeguard theirinterest. They make all efforts so thatthe companies do not suffer losses. Abrief look into the history of the per-sons, who held prime positions inAmerican Governments is sufficient tospeak out everything. Generally, per-sons who held high positions in themulti-nationals are appointed at thecrucial positions in the administration. 1) The former President of America

Lindon B Johnson was beforeserving as the President, owner ofmany radio and television chan-

2) The former Finance Secretary ofUSA, William E Simon was headof different insurance firms andbanks.

The multi-nationals had considerableinfluence on the Governments uptoextent that they could alter theGovernment decisions, financial poli-cies and foreign affairs policies. ManyGovernments are working on theadvice of such companies. Multi-nationals hatched much broaderconspiracies, inciting full-blown warsand massacres in many parts of theworld. Thus each anna is established inother anna. All the products in theworld are bhogya and the real bhokta, annada is the brahma. Thus who knowthat anna is established in anna, he isannavan. He becomes annanad and jebecomes a reputed person with exis-tence of bhokta. Pragya, pashu (cattle),brahma-tej and kirti.

All the expressions of God are the expressions ofextreme power. The extreme power for a human beingis invincible. Not because that whatever a human beingis or what he appears to be is nothing but a part ofalmighty but he is invincible because he is capable ofusing the utmost powers. In the super power, knowl-edge shall not be questioned. If you wish and he allowsyou, become super-power by going in his shelter butnever try to find the mystery because a human beingcould never succeed. In fact a human being is the extra-ordinary power and would remain to be. But in otherthought, to become super power you would have tocome out of your shell. But why a person wants to come out of the shell. Is theworld a bad place to live? O confusing soul of a mortalperson, remember that super power does exists in youbut you are not intelligent, better and pure than him. Hehas permitted you to stay on the world means youwould have to continue unless he does not permit you.As long as the super power exists in you it is not pos-sible to leave the world. Thus never wail to go out ofthe world and never make your soul painful. Neverdesire for the world and never distance it. But in eachcondition or circumstances try to attain purity, pleasureand independence. As long as wish remains with the human being, he can'tattain super power. Because the super power don't nothave any wish, neither to take birth, nor to live nor todie. The wishes of a human being are not in his controland thus we remember the god. You have super powersbut you are not god. There is almighty, who controlsevery human being. If you want to know god and reach closer to him,

accept him in the form he has expressed himself in theuniverse and even away from it. None could encroachupon his powers. He has established a relationship withthe world as otherwise he is invincible. And this is theknowing and not knowing the almighty the same time. None could say about the God that he is not present inthe universe or he is present here. All the concepts in ahuman being are expressions of ideas. And throughthese expressions soul adds values to the almighty. Andout of the concepts we could not said the truth which isultimately a zero or like zero. But in a zero only a per-son could remember the almighty better. We all know that god do exists but in such a mannerthat he could not see but only felt and experienced.Whenever your soul submerges deep and deep andexpands beyond any limits, means it is present beforethe almighty. Then the difference of physical, mentaldisappears and this is the situation when a person is infront of a temple and beyond it, you can't move. Youcan't move beyond it is any circumstance as it is the laststage for any living being. The almighty is the mostsupreme power, which could not be even prayed and noimage could be built. He feels satisfied if a humanbeing remembers him, experience and prays him. Forhim saints, human being, active, inactive everything isat par as all items on the world have his presence.Every soul in the world expresses almighty but wedon't understand it and in fact it is beyond our capabil-ity. None has any idea about the almighty but still peo-ple engrave their name in the temples after some dona-tions.Thus don't get confused. Don't consider your worldlyprogress as godly or don't try to leave the world to getcloser to hi. But identify him in this very world. He hasexpressed himself in this world for the sake of humanbeings. Don't get cheated with what you could not seeand also with what you could see. It is the onlyalmighty, who is the supreme and he is doing his `leela`in the world.

Cow is the symbol of earthword cow has 27 meanings. Inthese meanings, important are cow

and earth. In Hindu mythological books cowhas been referred as earth in many instances.See first chapter of Sriramcharit Manas cou-plets 183-184. Dhenu roop dhari hridayavichari, gayi taha jah sur muni jhari meansthe mother earth due to the atrocities ofRavana under the guise of cow went to godand seers to explain her plight. Even manysynonyms have been used for cow in differ-ent books (see couplet number 46 inBharithari niti).

The development of Vedic cultureThe knowledge of Vedas and its culturedeveloped on the banks of river Saraswati. The river and Mohanjodaro civilization werelocated in Sindh and Punjab (Pakistan) nowboth in Pakistan. The Saraswati river disap-peared almost 3500 years back andMohanjodaro civilization also vanished dueto natural calamities.

Service to cow is service to humanityThe ancient seers were in fact scientists andin them exists much more farsightedness. They had the plight of the common man inmind as none should sleep without meals. The background behind India facing manyattacks from foreigners lies in the theory ofhunger and affluent. Thus they preached thatthe almighty is the supreme and all on theearth are his children. Whatever property lieson the earth shall be distributed equallyamong all persons living on the mother earthare one family (varudhav kutumkam) and mypleasure lies in the pleasure of other livingcreatures (sarve bhavantu sukhina). The seers

not only preached it but followed religiously. They promoted farming, civilization andtrade. They shared whatever they had withthe world. India was the leader and the Indianculture was akin to god's culture as we dis-tributed our belongings with the world.Where ever Indians moved and started farm-ing, the development of Roman, Samaria,Babylon and Egypt civilization also tookplace.

Vedic educationIn Gurukuls Vedic education was given forcharacter building. The then education insist-ed on karma and tendency to distribute. Thethen education said that after following reli-gion, means honesty, meditation, donationand duty without interest of any return, theobjective of life is achieved. And that golden

era was called as satyug.

Habit of donationThe old tradition insisted more on donation. The seers preached that donation makesworld happy. They also insisted on feedingcows, which was considered as best form ofdonation.

Cow feedingThe human being is the best creature madeon this earth but to describe a human being, cow was the symbol. According to Hindutradition, one roti is kept for cow beforelunch. It has already been said that the cowrepresents mother earth. Thus, keeping a rotifor cow means feeding poor or hungry peo-ple on the earth first and then takes yourmeals. And going into more details, eachfamily shall provide meal, cloths, shelter,

education and medicinal treatment to theneedy persons and then enjoy his earning. Thus the philosophy of cow feeding is muchbetter than Maoism, socialism and commu-nism. Lord Rama and Lord Krishnaembraced Kevat, Shabari, Kubja andSudama, which was a great lesson to thesociety. If the society still follows the princi-pal of cow feeding, the problem of Maoismwould be eradicated.

Four indicators to make world happy 1. Brahmin- Brahmin indicates entire educa-tion system including gurukul, teachers, stu-dents and religion besides scienceresearchers and monks. Each individual shalldonate this group.2. Dog - Entire cattle world is represented bydog. Any cattle like cow, buffalo, horse, goat, camel, elephant or any of the cattle if it isdependent on anyone; it is his duty to takecare of his food and well being.3. Crow - Entire bird family is being repre-sented by crow. It is the duty of a humanbeing to arrange for water and food for thebirds.4. Ant - All the crawling insects are beingrepresented by ants. Many families still feedants with flour.

Cow slaughterThe scientist seers did not want any otherideology to generate except Vedic culture asonly Vedic culture helps human being attain-ing moksha. They were firm believer that ifany other culture developed, cow(earth)would be disintegrated. Means cow would beslaughtered repeatedly. When many ideolo-gies would come-up, it would lead to anar-chy, hatred with increase in sinful activitiesin the world. And ultimately it happened. TheBritish rulers divided India into seven parts. Thus mother cow was divided over half-a-dozen during foreign rule. The regions takenaway from our nation are Afghanistan(1876), Nepal (1904), Bhutan and Sikkim(1906), Sri Lanka (1911), Tibet (1914),Pakistan, Bangladesh and Maldives (1947)and later Pakistan has encroached upon onethird of Kashmir in 1958 and later Chinausurped 42,000 sq kms land in 1962.

3500 years back riverSaraswati disap-

peared and also Mohanjodhro civi-lization disappeared and later manypersons took shelter in Centralregion, particularly northern part ofit. In changed circumstances, theexchange of knowledge and culturedeveloped. In the meantime, the for-eigners attacked on India. Shak,Huns, Changez Khan, Taimur Lang,Sikandar, Bin Kasim, MahmudGaznavi, Mohammed Gauri, andBabar and ultimately the Britishrule, all exploited India to the hilt. The educational institutions weredamaged, which caused in illiteracy. The leaders could not understandthe symbolic representation of cowand since then they have explainedcow as an animal only. As a result,Jains, Baudhs, Muslims andChristian religions too grew andprogressed in India, besides othernations. Thus, the unity and integri-ty on the earth was disturbed badly. The problems of naxalism and ter-rorism raising their ugly heads aredue to the same reasons. The nationis encircled by the enemies. The vedic\sanatan Hindu communi-ty is being insulted and fearful. Theefforts of seers made many yearsago were undone and concernsproved right. Honourable SwamiRamdevji Maharaj is making effortsto re-establish healthy, prosperousand cultured India based on seer'straditions. His efforts are directedtowards making poor, rich, mentallyand physically healthy. He is popu-larizing Yoga, Ayurveda, nature, bal-anced and calculated diet besidestraditional and science of Indianmedicines. He is of the opinion thatonly healthy citizen would makenation prosperous, glorious and cul-tured. And after it India would be,once again the leader of the world. The Bharat Swabhiman Yatra is avery important step in this direction.

The farmers remain tense from sowingthe seed till the finished crop reaches tosafety. The policy makers could hardlyunderstand the plight of a farmer whencrops are standing and dark cloudshover on the sky. Had they understandit, they had not proposed for tax oncrops. Barring one or two states likeBihar, limitation to the farmer's landhas been made effective. Most of thefarmers have received land, but the sizeis so small that despite favourableweather, they could hardly earn suffi-cient for survival. Thus the restlessnessprevailing among the farmers is gen-uine. Though steps were taken for thebetterment of the farmers but they weremeager as compared to the problem.Frankly speaking steps were taken notfor welfare but to resolve the problemswhenever the Government was criti-cized. The Government initiated new steps toincrease production under the liberal-ization rule but the production rate hasdecreased substantially. In 1980 theannual production rate of wheat was4.7 percent but now it has reduced to

just 2.7 percent annually. The grain cri-sis which prevailed in the nation is oneof the affect of the Government's poli-cy. The farming could not be provided thestatus of industry. What is the reasonwhen in our country every producer hasthe right to fix the rate of its productsbut it is not so with farmers? What isthe reason when the Governmentannounced support price for farmersbut they are forced to sell their pro-duces at much lower rates to the mid-dlemen. Furthermore, the Governmentfixes the target of purchase and afterthat the farmers are forced to sell theirproduce in open market. Thus thetraders and middlemen exploit them. And what is the mystery behind thatwhen the farmer brings the produce inmarket, its prices dips and when itreaches to the go downs of the traders, the prices shoot-up. Thus the farmer ischeated at every step. The producewhich he had sold in market at muchlower price had to purchase it at payingfour or five times more the price.

in this country, the policies are draftedby the officers sitting in spacious air con-ditioned chambers and don't have anyidea of the ground realities. Do theyknow the problem of farmer, whoploughs the field in scorching sun for theentire day, who stands in long queue fordiesel to run pump sets, who had tostruggle to arrange seeds from coopera-tive societies and ultimately purchasefrom open market after paying highprice. And again the quality is very poor.

Unfortunately

The loan tofarmers ulti-mately provedto be deathtrap as manyfarmers havecommitted sui-cide after fail-ing to returnback loans, particularly toprivate traders. And theGovernmenthas adopteddouble stan-dards. Forindustries, valuable landis provided atthrowawayprices givingrebate of manycrores but afarmer losesthe life for afew thousands.

The cost of potato could be around 25-30 rupees per kg or onion 60 rupees perkg, when it is taken to market from thego down but when the crop of farmerscome to market, their prices againnose-dives. Thus the condition of farm-ers can be imagined easily. The subsidyon fertilizers, seeds and insecticides isgiven to industrialists manufacturing it.But farmers had to purchase every itemfrom open market. And the most unfortunate condition isregarding loan system and concession. The fact is that industrialist's take con-cessions of crores of rupees at the timeof setting up of the industry and laterback out, claiming the industry as sick.No efforts are being made for the loanrecovery by the concerned financialinstitutions. But with farmers the role isjust reversed. And many times the loantaken for the pump set cause theirdeath. Even the farmers are harassedand jailed for non-payment of theloans. And finally the land is auctionedfor the recovery of loan and thus, afarmer comes in the category of land-

less peasant. And to escape the disgraceof working at some other fields, thefarmer prefers to commit suicide. Whatan irony that only for a loan of a fewthousands, a farmer loses his land andlife too on many occasions. And indus-trialists, who had usurped crores ofrupees from the Government excheq-uer, are called respected and reputedpersons in the society. To run the sickindustries, the Government providesfinancial assistances in the form of loanand subsidies. They were given rebateon income tax, sales tax and even onpower tax but these farmers are givenno concessions. And on the contrarynow the law makers are contemplatingupon imposing tax on farming, which istotally dependent on the rain god. It is a fact that after green revolutionthere is a category of rich young farm-ers but had the Government even con-ducted survey about the percentage ofsuch farmers. And thus the question isthat to save the tax these corrupt ele-ments would find alternative methodsbut the burden would be on over 99percent real farmers. The farmers, striving hard to arrange two-squaremeal do not expect the Government toimpose tax on them. Apparently, the representatives of theGovernment contemplating uponimposing tax on farming have notgiven due thought on the probable con-sequences. Was it not considered nec-essary to improve the financial status ofthe farmers so that they could arrangemeals for them and family and thus, they had the inspiration to live at least. The persons sitting at the power centredoes not have even the sense to under-stand the basic equation of fundamentalneeds and demands. No farmer woulddeposit tax on the cost of his children. And hence the statement of the farmerleader Mahendra Singh Tikait that thecircumstances of bloody revolutionwould be created had the Governmentimposed tax on farming appears to be areality.

The intelli-gence of theGovernment isreally ques-tionable, whichis planning toimpose tax onfarming. Thefarmers arealready striv-ing hard tosurvive andtheGovernment istrying to makeit more diffi-cult. The backof the farmersis already bentdue to load ofprice rise ofessential com-modities relat-ed to farmingand now theGovernmentwants to breaktheir backboneby imposingtaxation

Ota Gandhi had two marriages. Fromthe first marriage he had four sonsand the second marriage blessed himwith two sons. The fifth brother wasKarmachand alias Kaba Gandhi andlast was Tulsidas Gandhi. Both heldthe post of Diwas in rotation. KabaGandhi also had four marriages. Thelast wife was Putli Bai who had onedaughter and three sons. MahatmaGandhi was the youngest. Gandhiji was born in samwat 1925 onthe day of bhadovati dwadashi meansit was 2nd October 1869. WhenGandhi was seven had sent to theschool located in the village inRajkot. Gandhiji was rated as an aver-age student. Basically he was verymuch introvert. In the school too, healways remain confined to the work.He reaches when the morning bell ofthe school rings and come out tomove straight to the home at the con-cluding bell. Here is one instance, when he was inhigh school. One Inspector Zyles ofEducation department came for theinspection. He dictated five wordsand asked the students to write themcorrectly. One of the words was cat-tle. But Gandhiji had spelled it wrong. The teacher indicated Gandhiji tolook into the copy of other student sit-ting in front of it. But Gandhi couldnot get the indication and even did notthink that the teacher was asking tocheat. Except Gandhiji, all the stu-dents wrote all the five words correct-ly. Only Gandhiji was admonishedbut he was so honest that despite indi-cation from the teacher he did notcopy. And despite it, he had full faith andrespect for the teacher. BasicallyGandhiji had the quality to see posi-tive side of persons, elder particularly. In any condition, he obeyed what theelders say. There are two more instances.Generally Gandhiji had no interestexcept reading text books. He couldnot tolerate astonishment and hencetry to reach school after completingthe lesson. Moreover he does notwant to cheat the teacher and hencemake every attempt to complete les-son. But despite all efforts he couldnot pay much attention on the studies.Hence, despite all efforts he could notcomplete his course.Gandhiji was fond of reading. Oncehe found a book based on the story of

ancestors of Mahatma Gandhi were grocers but the last three generations of MohandasKarmachand Gandhi were Diwans. The grandfather of Mahatma Gandhi, Uttamchand Gandhialias Ota Gandhi was a person of self-respect. Due to the conspiracies hatched against him, heleft Porbandar and took shelter in Junagadh.

Sharavan Kumar, who was an ardentdevotee of his father and mother. When he started reading it, interestedgenerated and in one go, he read com-plete book. Bioscope was also verymuch popular that time. And Gandhijisaw the story of Sharavan Kumar onbioscope. Both- the book and the bio-scope, based on Sharavan Kumar haddeep impact on the innocent mind ofGandhiji. He himself thought ofbecoming like Sharavan Kumar.Meanwhile, a play company arrivedin the town. They were playing thestory of Raja Harishchandra, a honestking, who while safeguarding thetruth lost his kingdom and becamechawkidar at a crematorium. He didnot allow cremating their son withoutpaying the tax. And the wife ultimate-ly gave a piece of her saree as tax.Gandhiji liked the play very much.He aspired to watch the play repeat-edly, but he was not allowed. But theplay had the impression in his mind.Even he dreamt of RajaHarishchandra. He always questionedto himself, why not all people turnhonest as Raja Harishchandra was?He belief of remaining honest even inmost adverse circumstances strength-ened after watching play on RajaHarishchandra. He personally felt theproblems; Raja Harishchandra mighthave undergone according to the playand broke into tears many times. Thecharacters of Sharavan Kumar andHarishchandra always remained alivein the heart of Mahatma Gandhi. Theautobiography of Mahatma Gandhi oranother book written by him 'satya keprayog' is clear indication that thestory of Harishchandra and SharavanKumar had deep imprint on his heartand played a key role in transforminghim from Mohandras KaramchandGandhi to Mahatma Gandhi. Just likeHarishchandra, Mahatma Gandhialways followed the path of truthful-ness. The truth and non-violencewere two major weapons of MahatmaGandhi, which ultimately defeatedBritish peoples. Truth and non-vio-lence were impeccable part of his life.On the birth anniversary of MahatmaGandhi let us all take pledge to followthe path of truth. And then only therelevance of Gandhi Jayanti would beproved.

Hind Fauz led by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose forced British forces to quit India. The Times of India, then wrotethat the popularity, glory and reputation Azad Hind Fauz earned in British India was unprecedented. The philos-

ophy of Azad Hind Fauz cast deep impression on Indian forces. The forces were then, the slave of British rule but due to thewar policy of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Indian forces were no more committed and allegiance to the then rulers. Evenafter being defeated in the battle field, Netaji had firm belief that Azad Hind Fauz would cast indelible impression on Indianforces.

Impact of Azad Hind Fauz onIndian Army

Netaji had firm belief that after the con-clusion of the world war, when thejawans of Azad Hind Fauz wouldreturn back to India and meet theircounter parts in Indian Army, their(Indian army) loyalty and devoutnesstowards British Government wouldaffect. In 1845 Netaji, to his lieutenantssaid that even after the surrender ofAzad Hind Fauz before Indian Army orbeing held by the army of friendlynation the objective of the armed battlewould be served. The lieutenants ofNetaji could not understand that afterdisbandment of the force, how could it

realize its dreams? But what happenedlater, proved Netaji's prediction right. In 1945-46 due to the charges framedbefore the army court of Azad HindFauz, ripples generated in the nationmaking it virtually impossible to feelIndian forces the heat. The members of Indian Army had, themselves seen the total organized anddisciplined Azad Hind Fauz membersfighting in the wars in Southern-Eastregions as an independent army withdue courage and bravery. WhenJapanese forces deserted Rangoon,6,000 Fauz jawans, under the leader-

The ideals ofAzad Hind Fauzhad deep markson the Indianarmy. They weredeeplyimpressed withtheir disciplineand rules. Thefight whichAzad Hind Fauztook againstBritish Forcewas big lessonto Indian Army

ship of Colonel Arshad maintainedtotal peace and order. They did notallow anti-social elements to loot orarson. Under the leadership ofBrigadier KS Thimaiyya, the Indianforces entered the city and were sur-prised to see the discipline and theorder of the force and the competencewith which, they had maintained thepeace of the city. Basically the jawans of Azad HindFauz and Indian Army had many simi-larities and even many of thembelonged to same place and even samefamily. Thus, when the jawans of AzadHind Fauz surrendered before theIndian Army, it was very difficult tostop them from establishing rapportmutually. When the Indian Army occu-pied Southern-East part, then theycame in touch with the Indians. TheseIndians were influenced by the nation-alistic and patriotism as preached byNetaji. The Indian community had deepimpact of the wonderful personality ofNetaji. After the surrender of Japan andoccupancy of the forces of friendlynations on Malaya, Thailand andSingapore, there was a little gap. Andin this period, total instability and con-fusion prevailed. Though, the leadersof Indian Independence League were

not arrested. Hence undertheir guidance, the under-ground leaders publicizednationalistic sentimentsamong the Indian soldiersin British army. Thespeeches of Netaji, his cut-outs, pictures were circulat-ed in large numberamong Indianjawans. TheIndian forces con-tinued for one year. And in the period, they were muchfriendly with the Azad Hind Forcemembers and had immense devotionand reverence towards Netaji. The Indian forces also felt that theywere seen with hatred and enmity. Thepeople of South-East consider them asslaves of British forces, who terrorizeAsians. But they had great reverencefor Azad Hind Fauz. All these factorshad their impact on the jawans ofIndian Army and their dedicationtowards British rulers was shaken. Andwhen the time for the hearing in LalQuila against the fauz membersreached, Royal Air Force expressedtheir sentiments in favour of Azad Hind

Fauz members. The jawans of IndianAir Force collected donations to helpout the brave soldiers of Azad HindFauz. The jawans of the IAF sent mes-sage to the Bengal CongressCommittee and not only appreciatedthe model of the force but also praisedtheir activities. The Air Force jawansalso protested against the court martialof the brave members ofAzad HindFauz. Thereafter a wave of sympathy infavour of the Azad Hind Fauz blew andthe strong sentiments in favour of theAzad Hind Fauz compelled theGovernment to change its policy. Thechief Captain of the British force wroteto his superiors that the Indian force ishappy with the release of the membersof the Azad Hind Fauz. Had effortsbeen made to make the punishmentgranted to them by the court, there wasprobability of total anarchy prevailing.Even there was threat of division in theforce after revolt. In fact the situation had turned volatile. After the strike of the Royale Air Forcein January 1946, the Royale Indian AirForce too went on strike. Besides other

The Navyjawans revolted everywhere includingBombay, Karachi, Madras, Calcutta,Coachin, Vishakhapatnam, Mandapamand Andaman. Only 10 naval shipscould escape from the revolt and onrest of the ships, the occupants stoodagainst the Government. The Army revolt had scared BritishGovernment and Indian Government. The Englishmen understood thatIndians are too annoyed with theirpresence now and had they not leavethe country; they would be forced tomove out. Previously, the BritishGovernment kept saying that whenCongress and Muslim League wouldreach some consensus, then only some-thing could happen. But after thisrevolt, they understood that it is betterto quit India as soon as possible. Thus, it was the miracle of NetajiSubhash Chandra Bose and his AzadHind Fauz that Britishers were forcedto move out of the country. BritishGovernment for amicably moving outsent Mountbatten to plan moving out ofthe country.

is an essential part of the life and it reallyhelps in attaining many objects. Youth,

male, female every person comes out of the house to earnmoney. When the parents send the children to the school, they had in their mind that after education he wouldbecome capable and then earn something to lead peacefullife. The daily needs could not be fulfilled withoutmoney. Even a person thinks to help some poor person, itis possible only with the help of money. Even the attitudeof the society changes, when it sees a person withoutmoney. They start neglecting and even commit atrocitieson him. Thus if a person had enough money he wouldnot tolerate excesses of others. But the natural question arises that whether only thosepeople are happy who have money? The availability ofmoney may or may not be the cause of happiness but thelack of money is for sure cause of worry. But still keep inmind that there is little relationship between success andproperty. It is totally false that a person having propertyand assets is successful. A person might get property after the death of his father. So can we say that the person is successful? Anotherhuman being earns lots of money by illegal means, doesthat person is also successful? Yet another person winslottery of worth Rs 7 lakh. Now he has a few lakhs in hispocket but would he be considered successful? Money, peace, luxury and success are for the persons, who work hard and earn livelihood. There is a saying inthe Indian rural sector as you eat the food, as your souland mind thinks. To consume meal of a person who hasearned lot of money by illegal means pollute thoughts. And after the brain gets polluted, you would also startthinking in the same direction and thus become unhappy. Now the reason is clear. Most of the persons don'tdependent on their original earning but make other illegalefforts for extra income. Thus, this extra earning pollutesthe life of the human being and makes him unhappy. Thepersons who spend their life solely on real earning andsalary, sense of fear, diseases, and sorrow do not come tothem. This always leads to peaceful and happy life.

Education If in the life, a person earns money legitimately then a

person would lead successful and happy life.

The number of persons suffering from the dis-eases is increasing fast and hence the decisionto observe October 20 as World Osteoporosisday was taken. The main reasons behind it arelack of calcium and minerals in the food, fastfood, obesity and mental tension and less or nophysical exercises. Also consumption of somemedicines taken for long time also cast illeffects on the bones and their density decreas-es. Due to stoppage of menstruation and excess ofhormones also cause the diseases amongwomen. This is the main reason behind fracturein back-bone and pelvis. One of the reasons ofthe diseases assuming seriousness is that peo-ple don't understand the initial symptoms andare careless for the treatment. People becomeserious only when they suffer problems. Thusafter 40-45 years a person shall regularly getdensity of bones checked regularly. Even if aperson is suffering pain in waist for long timeand the bones get cracked on minor jolt, then aperson shall consult doctor. Now-a-days the problem is seen in youngstersalso. Changing life style, lack of exercises, heredity problem, thyroid, lack of hormones, problem in hormones growth, liquor, smokingand cold drinks are basically the reasons for thedisease. But basically it is the disease of increasing age.The disease reduces the density and also bringsdeformity in the bones. The bones become brit-tle and crack on small or little shock. The dis-ease is also quiet disease as it attacks silently.Initially no symptoms are seen and the diseasekeeps becoming serious. And when fractureoccurs, the disease is confirmed. The process of bones forming is continues inthe life. The density and strength also increasesin young age. But in middle age after 45 years, the reverse process begins. And here is the

problem of Osteoporosis hasassumed serious dimensions in

the world. According to a survey, over 15percent persons above 50 years of age aresuffering from it. Bones of a human beingbecomes porous and weak and getscracked with minor jolt.

beginning of bones turning brittle and weak. This is the beginning of the Osteoporosis dis-ease. The hormones which cast adverse impacton the bones include growth hormone, introgenand thyroid hormones. The disease affects women more as comparedto men and the reason is that after stoppage ofmenses, quantity of introjen hormone startsdecreasing. The bones get de-watered fastwhich reduces the strength of bones. Thewomen, whose menses stops before age of 45years, whose ovary is removed by the opera-tion, who is childless or who has not been withmenstrual for long. There are other factors also which cause thedisease irrespective of whether the victim ismale or female. It could be heredity problem. The lack of vitamin D, calcium and proteinsalso cause the disease. If a person is much thinthen also there is probability that the diseasecould attack. High blood pressure too causethis disease as in high BP the calcium fast pass-

es out from the urine and even additional calci-um is consumed it fails to supplement. There is no indication of wearing out of bones. The disease is confirmed only when fractureoccurs and the doctor is consulted. The initialstage of the disease causes pain in the bones ofwrist, buttocks and waist. The back bone bendsdue to the problem. As the veins get weak thereis strong possibility of a person suffering thestroke of paralysis.

The importance of examinationThe importance of examination do exists in thisdisease. If it is diagnosed at the initial stage, itcould be checked. The density of the bonescould be measured with the help of x-rays com-puterized toyography scan, ultrasound, bonedemotry scan and other technologies couldascertain the density. Due to wearing of thebones, they get weak and brittle. Thus the jointslike buttocks and knee had problems in carry-ing the weight of the body.

Change the daily life routineWomen are more gripped by the disease andhence they need to be more alert. With calcu-lated and balanced diet with controlled dailyroutine the effect of the disease could be mini-mized. Basically soft drinks and other sweetdrinks have replaced milk and hence childrendo not get adequate amount of calcium.According to an estimate, the supply of calci-um has been reduced to half against thedemand. Hence, when the children do not getadequate minerals to strengthen the bones, theyare under threat of osteoporosis. It is veryimportant to maintain the standard of calciumin the body. Even excess consumption of somenutritious elements like protein, vitamin A andsodium also blocks the absorption of calcium inthe body. Alcohol also restricts the absorptionof calcium in the body. Many normal medicineslike Entaneeds, Sterawads and Duretix affectsthe metabolism of calcium. The calcium in thebody is needed, apart from protection of osteo-porosis, for maintaining normal blood pressure, proper metabolic functioning and for defense inthe body. More calcium input also reduces thethreat of colon cancer.

Better diet for bonesThe meaning of osteoporosis means bones with

porous surface. Over 6 crore persons are affect-ed of this disease. And of the each two womenover 45 years, one is affected of this disease.Though both, women and men are victimizedbut women are at four times risk. The child-hood and teen-age is important for the strength-ening of bones. The children should be fed withcalcium so that they reduce the risk of sufferingfrom the disease.

Zinc and fiber helpin reducing threatMost of the persons believe that weakness ofbones is due to lack of calcium. It is true butrecent studies and research has found that thereare more elements which increase calcium inthe body. Consuming items rich in calcium asmilk, cheese, yeast is beneficial for the prepa-ration of calcium in the body. But many othersources also help in strengthening bones.Taking adequate amount of zinc, magnesium, potassium, vitamin c and fruits rich in fiber alsohelp in strengthening bones. A person shall eatfruits, green vegetables, potatoes, peas, bananaand raw grains, which enriches vitamins andthus strengthens bones. The problem of pain inknees is very common and to get relief con-sume ginger, soya, berry etc. It smoothen thestrain. Avoid using fats and sweet items.

Strengthen the bonesThe probability of women suffering from thedisease is, as already said, much more than ascompare to men. Even the young males andfemales could also be attacked by the disease. The persons with lean and thin body structure, with irregular diet and having faulty body pos-ture are more vulnerable to the disease relatedto bones.

Such persons shall get proper exposure undersun so that they could get vitamin D. Many per-sons always do night shift and in day remaininside the home and thus, have very limitedexposure to sun. They are also at more risk. They are advised to take sun bath regularly. The sources of calcium should be stored athome. And remember only milk produce aloneare not the sources of calcium. But there aremany alternatives which are rich in calcium. The cauliflower and almonds are rich in calci-um. Also peas and spinach plant are rich in cal-cium. Likewise, custard apple is also a goodcalcium supplier. Walking, jogging, ascending stairs, dance, foot-ball and other exercises strengthen bones andmuscles. Use of weight lifting and weightmachine also strengthen bones. Thus it couldbe concluded that an active life routine inwhich physical activities are also involved isgood as it makes bones and muscles healthier. But is any individual is already suffering fromthe disease, he is advised to reach doctor. The home is the first place from where youcould start the process to escape the disease.Try to use shoes and slippers without heals.Ensure that adequate sun light enters the house. And take medicines only with the advice of thedoctor as without consulting doctor, it couldcause unconsciousness. And remember age is no bar to strengthen thebones as bones are live cells which respond ondoing exercises. Exercise makes them strongand dense. Due to lack of exercise and the den-sity and the size of the bones could reduce. Try

to get x-ray of an arm of a tennis player withwhich he or she plays. The bones of this handwould be relatively stronger as compared toothers. During old age, the probability of bones tear-ing, ankle pain and other diseases related tobones increases. The persons who are associat-ed with games since beginning have less threatof osteoporosis. Their bones are strengtheneddue to exercises they undergo while playing. The children who play hockey, badminton ortennis at least 9 hours in a week have fairchances of improved bone mineral density. This also improves joints at buttocks. Even ifthe children after certain do not play still theyhave less chance of being victim of osteoporo-sis.

Maharshi Valmiki had after learningthe descriptions of a model human beingdecided to create such poetry. He him-self was a great saint. He wanted toenrich the society with the blessings ofNarada so that his devotion of manyyears bore fruits. When Narada told himthat a model person, enriched with allthe qualities and committed for the wel-fare of the human being is within them, saint Valmiki decided to write a bookdescribing the model person. Maharshi Valmiki was going to the riverGanga for his daily ablutions. A discipleby the name Bharadwaja was carryinghis clothes. On the way, they cameacross the Tamsa stream. Looking at thestream, Maharshi Valmiki said to hisdisciple, "Look, how clear is this water, like the mind of a good man! I will bathehere today." When he was looking for asuitable place to step into the stream, heheard the sweet chirping of birds.Looking up, he saw two birds flyingtogether. Maharshi Valmiki felt verypleased on seeing the happy bird couple.Suddenly, one of the birds fell down, hitby an arrow; it was the male bird. Seeingthe wounded one, its mate screamed inagony. Maharshi Valmiki's heart meltedat this pitiful sight. He looked around tofind out who had shot the bird. He saw ahunter with a bow and arrows, nearby.Maharshi Valmiki became very angry. His lips opened and he uttered the fol-lowing words:ma nisada pratisthha tvamagamah

???vat?h samah yat krauñ camithun?dekam avadh?hk?mamohitaMeans you will find no rest for the longyears of eternity for you killed a bird inlive and unsuspecting. Emerging spontaneously from his rageand grief, this was the first ?loka inSanskrit literature. Later maharshiValmiki composed the entire Ramayanawith the blessings of Lord Brahma in thesame meter that issued forth from him asthe ?loka. Thus this ?loka is revered asthe "first ?loka" in Hindu literature.Maharshi Valmiki is revered as the firstpoet, or Adi Kavi, and the Ramayana, the first Kavya. His first disciples towhom he taught the Ramayana wereKusha and Lava, the sons of Rama.Though after cursing the person, he waspained. He thought why I could not keepcontrol on myself and gave curse to thenishad. He wrote Kimidam vyahatammaya (What I have done). But then, he consoled himself sayingthat this inner voice would ultimatelyhelp in writing the book. He couldunderstand that the inner sentiments towrite the book would now reflect in thebook, which he would write. The timehas come to realize the dream. He was assured that the goddess of liter-ature would herself help him in writingthe epic so that he could present his sen-timents in the easy manner. Thus his

Even different versions come during lifetime of Maharshi Valmiki and the periodof Ramayana. Many times the issue hasbeen discussed. Dr H Jakobi opined thatMaharshi Valmiki was born beforeGautam Buddha. W Skegal says that hewas born in pre-christ era while GTWheeler and A Beber claim that he wasborn after Jesus Christ. The archeologydepartment of India had excavatedAyodhya, Nandigram and other relatedplaces, which proves that all the placeswere inter-related. Vijyadashmi isnot only thefestival to cel-ebrate. But itis the day toremember rolemodels andvalues. It isthe day toremember theexample setby Lord Rama.He himselfalways adopt-ed life of truthand honesty inhis life. Healways fol-lowed the cul-ture and val-ues and hencewas known asMaryadaPuroshottam.

The festival of Dussehra remembersIndian culture and also a victory of lordover demon and good over bad. LordRama went to jungles and associateddifferent animals and tribals to form anarmy which ultimately conqueredRavana and Lanka. He had Nishat,Guha and Kirat caste people, Sugriv,Hanuman, Angad and Nal-Neel as lieu-tenants. But he defeated much powerfulRavana. He took the message of Indianculture to Lanka. The day also remembers that only goldand prosperity and power could not savea human being. With power, culture isalso needed, which Ravana was lacking. Thus Vijyadashmi or Dussehra is alsocalled the festival of culture. Lord

Ramchandra also returned the kingdom;he had won to Vibhishan and thus setthe tradition, not to rule others' states. Thus Lord Rama is viewed with muchrespect. He followed all the rules of thesociety religiously as a common man.The society, also looks at Bali andRavana with hate and dislike as one hadforcibly took wife of his brother whilethe other abducted another king's wifeillegally. Ravana, who had the duty tosafeguard the society, committed atroci-ties and terrorized, violates the valuesset-up for a ruler. Indian culture alsoteaches to consider such fellows as theenemy of the society and other, whichdefeated him as the patron. Lord Rama was the gift of Arya culture. In Arya culture prominence has beenlaid to human development. Previouslythe semi developed Asian and Europeannations considered the power and man-hood as their model. And this is the rea-son that despite facing many challenges, the Aryan culture is alive and followed.A case survives as long as it has contri-bution in the development of the humanbeing. History proves that the castes, where killing, cheating was the com-mon phenomenon could not survive andvanished ultimately. We salute Lord Rama the symbol ofArya culture. We also pray MotherSeeta as she proved her unblemishedcharacter and became a role model forthe womanhood. Her dedication anddevotion towards husband has set anexample. The self-control of Laxmanand the love to brother by Bharatstrengthen the belief of goodness. ThusRamayana gives us political, spiritualstrength to live with high moral values.

The concept has two forms - concept related to subjectand concept related to soul. In the concept related tosubjects words and deeds are important. Thus a personshall perform meditation at an isolated place.Remember that many external forces come to disturbwhile meditation. Meditation shall be thus performed atisolated place with least sound in vicinity. Even beforePranayam, many different sounds echo in the soul.Sounds like clapping, conch, etc all echo in ears. Butdespite such sounds, efforts shall be made for medita-tion and Pranayam. But once concentration is attained, all external activities disappear and this is called theextreme point. It has been said in the ancient books thatreaching the last point with no external sound disturb-ing in the extreme point. It is the point when soulappears to merge with the god.Margdharna is also jyotirdharna as in this path also you

To understand constipation, it helps toknow how the colon (large intestine)works. As food moves through it, thecolon absorbs water while formingwaste products, or stool. Muscle con-tractions in the colon push the stooltoward the rectum. By the time stoolreaches the rectum, it is solid becausemost of the water has been absorbed. The main reason behind it is less use ofvegetables and fruits helpful in keepingcolon clean and excess use of potato, washed pulses, fat rich items, use ofbiscuits and bread, sweets, tea, coffeeand others, lack of physical labour, ten-

foods is also important.Yogic treatment : With adequate useof Yogasan and exercise also this prob-lem could be tackled. Important precautions : Some impor-tant precautions could keep the prob-lem away. Go for defecation in themorning even if you don't wish it. 1. Consume 10-12 glass of water daily.Soon after waking up, before lunch, after lunch and at the interval of onehour in daily routine.2. Crush morsel properly and takemeals peacefully.3. Take meals at proper time and in ade-quate quantity so that natural hungergenerates at the time of next meal. 4. If constipation I accompanied byhigh blood pressure don't exercise.

Avoid constipation and be happy The hard and dry stools of constipationoccur when the colon absorbs too muchwater. This happens because the colon'smuscle contractions are slow or slug-gish, causing the stool to move thecommon constipation causes notenough fiber in diet, not enough liq-uids, lack of exercise, medications, irri-table bowel syndrome, changes in lifeor routine such as pregnancy, older age,and travel, abuse of laxatives, ignoringthe urge to have a bowel movement, specific diseases such as multiple scle-rosis and lupus, problems with thecolon and rectum and problems withintestinal function (Chronic idiopathicconstipation). Other changes that can help treat andprevent constipation include drinkingenough water and other liquids such asfruit and vegetable juices and clearsoup, engaging in daily exercise, andreserving enough time to have a bowelmovement. In addition, the urge tohave a bowel movement should not beignored. Most people who are mildlyconstipated do not need laxatives. Forchildren, short-term treatment with lax-atives, along with retraining to estab-lish regular bowel habits, also helpsprevent constipation. People with chronic constipation

caused by anorectal dysfunction canuse biofeedback to retrain the musclesthat control release of bowel move-ments. Biofeedback involves using asensor to monitor muscle activity thatat the same time can be displayed on acomputer screen allowing for an accu-rate assessment of body functions. Ahealth care professional uses this infor-mation to help the patient learn how touse these muscles. Surgical removal of the colon may bean option for people with severe symp-toms caused by colonic inertia. However, the benefits of this surgerymust be weighed against possible com-plications, which include abdominalpain and diarrhea. Sometimes constipation can lead tocomplications. These complicationsinclude hemorrhoids caused by strain-ing to have a bowel movement or analfissures (tears in the skin around theanus) caused when hard stool stretchesthe sphincter muscle. As a result, rectalbleeding may occur that appears asbright red streaks on the surface of thestool. Treatment for hemorrhoids mayinclude warm tub baths, ice packs, andapplication of a cream to the affectedarea. Treatment for anal fissure mayinclude stretching the sphincter muscleor surgical removal of tissue or skin inthe affected area. Sometimes straining causes a smallamount of intestinal lining to push outfrom the anal opening. This conditionis known as rectal prolapse and maylead to secretion of mucus from theanus. Usually, eliminating the cause ofthe prolapse such as straining or cough-ing is the only treatment necessary.Severe or chronic prolapse requiressurgery to strengthen and tighten theanal sphincter muscle or to repair theprolapsed lining. Constipation may also cause hard stoolto pack the intestine and rectum sotightly that the normal pushing actionof the colon is not enough to expel thestool. This condition, called fecalimpaction, occurs most often in chil-dren and older adults.

Constipation isan enemy tothe health. Itdamages thedigestion sys-tem and thusmany dis-eases attackthe body. Tolead healthylife avoidthese simplediseases, which havelarger implica-tions. Here weare explainingsome ways toescape consti-pation.

The founder of the trust Swami Ramdevji Maharajhoisted the flag.On the occasion Swamiji said that there is no religion biggerthan nationalism or national religion. He said that the interestof the nation shall be the top most priority. He said that Iwould dedicate all my wealth, soul and body for the welfareof the nation. He said that the nation is though independentbut actually it is just the transference of power. The BritishGovernment handed over the power to Indians but still we areslaves of English system be it the field of education, medicalor others. Even we failed to establish our own language.Hindi is our national language but it is most neglected lan-guage in the nation. We do remember the martyrs, who laid their lives for the sakeof the nation due to whom we are independent today. Weremember Mahatma Gandhi, who defeated whole BritishGovernment. But now we shall work to make their dreamsreality. We have to make India as dreamt by Bapu and otherfreedom fighters. Now the countrymen would have to strivefor the healthy, prosperous and cultured independent Indiawith reliability of swadesh. We would have to fight for self-reliant India, with population control, eradication of povertyand political corruption free India. The national interest is theupper most. He said that only to fulfill the tradition of hoist-ing national flag on few occasions would not serve the pur-pose. He nationalistic sentiments should be always alive inour hearts. For the respect of the nation, none should legbehind in even sacrificing the life, if situation and the nationdemands.

Acharyashri returned fromBrazil after setting-up

Patanjali Yoga committeesHaridwar. Acharya Balkrishnaji Maharaj visited Sao Paulo,

Brazil and attended various programmes to popularize Yoga andAyurveda. While addressing a seminar on Yoga in Sao Paulo asChief Guest Acharya Balkrishnaji Maharaj said that the knowl-

edge of Yoga and Ayurveda, an extract of ancient seer's traditionis several years old. India is very rich in culture and traditions.

India has echoed vasudhev kudumkam (world harmony) andalso realized it. And taking the tradition ahead now Patanjali

Yogapeeth is, with the help of Yoga tying entire world in onethread. He also deliberated in the seminar on the medicinal

plants, found in Brazil and their uses. Many directors of differ-ent business establishments expressed their eagerness to work in

the field of medicinal plants, yoga and ayurveda in associationwith Patanjali Yogapeeth.

In the open session yoga cultural programme was arranged andBrazilians and non resident Indians were mesmerized with the

lyrics of devotional songs (bhajans) and many of them over-whelmed with the sentiments started dancing. The local resi-

dents were mesmerized with the music accompanying devotion-al songs (bhajans). The flavor of equality and liberal attitude in

the Hindu religion impressed the Brazilians and they took lot ofinterest in the spiritual knowledge in the religion. Many of them

turned sentimental towards India and Indians. Due to the loveand appreciation towards Yoga expressed by the Brazilians,

Acharya Shri set-up a unit of Patanjali Yoga Committee. ThePatanjali University in Haridwar is holding the first internationalconvention on Yoga in Haridwar from January 2-5. Many of the

intellectuals and learned personalities consented to attend theconvention.

On the occasion Swami Chinmayanand ji Maharaj, Kamal,Lajima Lemma, Nubia Texara, Vincent Morrison, Anderson

Ganga Raksha Manch committed tosave holy river Ganga

Haridwar. In the religious town Haridwar, under the guidanceof Swamiji and the banner of Ganga Raksha Manch, several

thousands of persons hit roads to save holy river Ganga. In theagitation apart from the devotees and followers of Baba

Ramdev, many saints too participated. On the occasion, BabaRamdev said that the hydel power generation project on riverGanga would not be allowed at any cost. He said that if these

projects would not be stopped immediately, there would besevere threat on the water level and ultimately on the existence

of river Ganga.

Training on ancientbranch of medicineswould be availablenow — Baba RamdevHaridwar. Yoga and Ayurveda have been included in theMBBS curriculum and hence another alternative to treat dis-eases would be available. The step of the Government isworth appreciating. Now the age-old traditions of medicalbranch would get patronage but it would also benefit the soci-ety. These views were expressed by Yoga Rishi SwamiRamdevji Maharaj while addressing a press conference. He stressed that India is the mother of medicinal science andthe dreaded diseases like seine flu, dengue, kidney ailmentshave their treatment in the treasurer of Ayurveda. He said thatAllopathy could give immediate relief but for permanent solu-tion Ayurveda is the remedy. Hitherto, the BAMS studentswere imparted a little knowledge of Allopathy but the MBBSstudents were totally kept ignorant of Yoga and Ayurveda. Butnow the Medical Council of India (MCI) has decided to incor-porate the ancient medicine branch in the curriculum, whichwould now be a complete medical education. While giving information of the nation-wide campaign fornext two years, Yoga Rishi said thatfrom Janmashtami 2010the campaign for awareness and popularizing Yoga wouldbegin. Free Yoga camps would be conducted at various placesin the country and the first such camp would be held inDwarika. Over 10,000 programmes would be conducted innext two years. In each district, one village would be shortlist-ed to be developed as model village where employment wouldbe generated for 250-500 persons. Total system to produceand prepare daily need items like joss sticks, soaps, shampooswould be set-up and finished products would be purchased sothat other villages could also take inspiration from it and gen-erate self-employment on the same lines. When the dream of model village would realize, then themoney flowing out of the country would be stopped and thedream of Gandhiji of rural development would turn into reali-ty. In reply of a question, he said that the dreams of Gandhijiand other freedom fighters was to promote and propagateSwadeshi and we are heading in the same direction. He saidthat following the path of martyrs only, we could achieve thetarget of swadeshi and self-reliant and one day India would beagain at the top in the world. While replying a question relat-ed to life, age and its mysteries, he informed that the age ofhuman brain, heart and other organs is 400 years. But to keepthem active, there is need to keep proper balance in the life.He said that with regular and important restrictions on dietand yoga, the negativity prevailing in the society could bechecked. On the occasion, Acharya Balkrishnaji Maharajjiwas also present with Yoga Rishi Ramdevji Maharaj.

Swami Ramdevji Maharajhas said that all creatures

on the planet, like human beings, havethe right to live fearlessly. When wecould not produce a creature, then whohas given us right to kill them. And wekill any animal just because they arenot human beings. All the living creatures on the worldhave brain, heart and eyes. They alsohave the feelings of sorrow and pain. But we kill them because they don'thave any weapon for protection or inthe dictatorship of democracy theydon't have the right to vote. And sincethey are useless for leaders, none both-ers for their safety. Had they got voice, they could have also explained their

pain but they are helpless as they don'tspeak. And the human being enjoyskilling innocent and protection lessanimals. We feel proud in eating non-vegetarian like dogs and wolves.Nothing could be more sinful. When aperson could survive on vegetarianfood, what is the need to kill innocentanimal. A human being is vegetarianby nature and its structure also suitsvegetarian. This is a scientific fact.
