The use of technology today is an undeniable
leverage. Increased in productivity because of
the adoption of technology has been well
documented within our accountancy industry.
Technology as a tool for managing risk espe-
cially for tax practices is also widely ac-
cepted . The advent of ISQC 1 had called for
a firm’s holistic adoption of technology rang-
ing from the management of personnel to the
assessment regime and it’s myriad penalties.
So, why are some firms still reluctant to
invest in technology? The issue lies with
the partners’ & senior managements’ reluc-
tant to embrace technology.
In the respect, the Public Practice Depart-
ment is organizing a one day programme to
enable software houses to showcase their
products to members. The software pro-
grammes that will be demonstrated will be
those in the auditing and taxation arena.
We have invited some well known company
that specializes in these 2 areas to share
their insight with our members.
MIA: Information Technology (IT) for Accounting and Taxation firms
Going forward, perhaps one of the key per-
formances indicators (KPI) that firms need to
track will be their annual IT spending.
Ygl TAXcom was one of the few selected
companies to participate in the event. We
aim to help MIA to create awareness among
members of the importance of IT investment
by showcasing TAXcom software and ser-
vices for auditors & taxations.

We can evidently believe that Multimedia University (MMU) is
one of the leading local private universities to be given ac-
creditation for its high academic programmes.
MMU comprises of 2 campuses— one in Cyberjaya and the
other in Melaka. In parallel with the university’s vision of the
top university which churns all rounded graduates be it aca-
demically, socially, spiritually or physically, the Students Affair
Division Cyberjaya Campus took the initiative and seized the
opportunity to organize an event known as Career Fair
2009/2010.
Ygl was proud to be one of the few selected companies to
participate in this event. The bridge of stronger ties in univer-
sity and Ygl commenced on the 2nd to the 4th Feb 2010. Ygl
strongly believes with the support and assistance that we
provide in the event will be a success. We also believe that
the event not only covers the campus but also the whole
community of Cyberjaya to come together as a society that
creates a sense of belonging and care for the people in the
community.
By joining this event, Ygl hoped that we can instill awareness
in the University students regarding the necessity of being
able to participate in the event organization, apart from bring-
