National Science Week Mr Schumann is hosting lunchtime science workshops in the STEAM Space during Science Week (week 4) from Monday 12 th to Wednesday 14 th August. Here’s a taste of what he has planned: Monday: can crumpling and a fountain experiment Tuesday: ’dry ice extravaganza’ — come and see what this amazing stuff does! Wednesday: learn about and make an ‘Archimedes Diver’ (oooohh what's that? Come along and find out or miss out!) Mr Schumann will also be presenting science in the primary classes including some rocket propulsion experiments! WOW! Considering drum, guitar, keyboard/piano or vocal lessons for your student/s? SPACE IS AVAILABLE for private tuition — instrument lessons are on Thursday mornings and vocals on Friday mornings during class time. Lessons are 30mins each, individual or group. The PERFORMANCE is on the same night—students must arrive at the back door of the Chaffey Theatre at 7pm. YEAR 9/10 CAMP Notes went home yesterday regarding the Year 9/10 camp to Wilmington in the lower Flinders Ranges from Tuesday 27 th to Friday 30 th August (week 6). Students have a bit of work to do in the lead-up to camp, including working together to plan, budget and shop for their menu plus organising ‘who’s got what’ tent and camping equipment between their groups. Chaplain’s Corner by Mrs Veronica Raams This term started with me attending two conferences in the first week. They were both so good! I grew a lot and feel refreshed and ready to start the second half of the year with new enthusiasm and looking at life through a new lens. I was also taught how important it is to look after myself so I can serve others better. Sometimes we forget that, especially as parents we give and give! In Follow Jesus we’re talking about the importance of reading our Bibles. This is also a way to keep close to God and rest in Him. Programs are all starting back this week: Monday: Ukulele for F-3s during Performing Arts & Circle Time for Years 4-6 at lunchtime Tuesday: Follow Jesus—whole school @ lunch Thursday: Gardening Club—whole school @ lunch Friday: Circle Time for Years 7-10 @ lunch and GirlWise during class time Chapel: Thank you to the 9/10 class who took chapel last week—I’m sure you were great.
