This booklet covers content for the whole Autumn 1 term. Answers &
instructions for all tasks are provided (answers are at the end of the
booklet).
Guidance for completing MFL work:
The work inside the booklets on ClassCharts/in school reception contain enough work
to cover the 14 hours of lesson time you would have had in this first half-term, it is
therefore expected that you spend a similar amount of time completing the tasks.
This can be done in small chunks and/or with regular breaks.
The content of the booklets is based on activities/tasks from your lessons. This
means that you should be familiar with the different types of tasks set by your
teacher. Within each booklet are instructions (in English) for every task that you
have to complete.
If you struggle to understand a task, please see below a list of useful websites to
Task 2: Now, once you feel confident you know most of the vocabulary in Spanish,
translate the following sentences into English.
Task 3: Then, translate the following sentences into Spanish. Use the sentence
builder above to help (if you need it)
Task 4: Without using the previous sentence builders or looking at notes, how much
Spanish can you remember?

Lesson 12 – Present tense
IN&ON: Answer the questions with what you can remember about the present tense.
Task 1: Spend 5 minutes reading through and making notes on how to form the
present tense (use the audio explanation to help you).
Task 2: Now practise by changing the infinitives into the present tense.
1) What actions does the present tense describe?
2) What is the present tense verb ending when describing actions ‘I’ do?
3) What type of verb must you always start with in the present tense?
4) How can you tell this type if verb? Which letters are on the end?
1. Find the infinitive of the verb being done.
eg: to study – estudiar 2. Take off the 2-letter ending (-ar / -er / -ir) so that you’re left with the “stem” of the
verb.
eg: estudiar 3. Add one of the following endings, depending on who or what is doing the verb, and what
type of verb it is.
1. I speak (hablar)
2. We live (vivir)
3. He eats (comer)
4. You (sing) leave (dejar)
5. They drink (beber)
Task 3: Now practise further by changing these infinitives into the present tense.
