The Language Institute administers English language test

สถาบนภาษาจดทดสอบความรภาษาองกฤษนอกสถานท วนท 1 ธนวาคม 2561 และวนท 15 ธนวาคม 2561 สถาบนภาษา

จดทดสอบวดความรภาษาองกฤษ TU-GET ( Thammasat University General English Test) ณ โรงเรยนอสสมชญ บางรก และโรงเรยนเซนตคาเบรยล โดยมการวดทกษะ ดานไวยากรณ ค าศพท และการอาน มผเขาสอบครงน จ านวน 98 คน และ 600 คน ตามล าดบ

On December 1st and December 15th, 2018, The Language Institute of Thammasat University (LITU) administered the TU-GET (Thammasat University General English Test) to assess English proficiency in grammar, vocabulary, and reading for 98 students of Assumption College and 600 students of Saint Gabriel's College, respectively.

Language Institute. the tests were administered to 250 people, including teachers and staff of Panyapiwat Institute of Management, Chaengwattana Road, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province.

LITU, was invited by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction (Teaching Foreign Languages), Faculty of Education, Silpakorn University Sanamchandra campus to be a guest commentator for the Bachelor of Education Program in English (4-year program). The meeting was held at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Suksasart I building, Faculty of Education, Silpakorn University Sanamchandra campus.

Furthermore, they participated in a ceremony honoring the 31st anniversary of Thammasat University Hospital. The event took place on the first floor of M.R. Suwapan Sanitwong Building, Thammasat University Hospital, Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus.

From December 7th to 8th, 2018, LITU held the 5th International Conference on Foreign Language Learning and Teaching (FLLT 2018), the theme of which was “Revitalizing and Enriching ELT Research and Practices: Looking to the Future” at Duangtawan Hotel, Chiang Mai. This conference provided a platform for ELT professionals, researchers, and practitioners to exchange views, share experience, and present research on various aspects of English language education and English language acquisition. Mr. Isra Sunthornvut, Secretary General of ASEAN Inter-parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), served as a keynote speaker and delivered a speech on the topic of “Current Trends and Directions in English Language Education in ASEAN Countries”.

New Year Message from Director of the Language Institute, Thammasat University (Associate Professor Dr. Supong Tangkiengsirisin)

Dear Colleagues,

Happy New Year to you all! I hope you celebrated the beginning of 2019 in good spirits with your family and friends. As we are a few days into the new year, it is good to look ahead and think about what this year may bring us. Of course, there is a lot of work ahead. Apart from our normal teaching responsibilities, we also need to develop ourselves professionally through doing research, and attending conferences and workshops.

It is important for us to use our time wisely and move forward as swiftly and productively as we can in 2019. That will only be possible with your continued dedication and effort. Academic promotion and career success will still be the major goal for us to achieve without delay. We

have to find a very effective way to reach our fullest potential and yield the optimal results.

At the institutional level, more energy will be needed to complete the huge joint conference project this year—the 17th ASIA TEFL and the 6th FLLT. More perseverance will also be needed to index our LEARN Journal in SCOPUS. More publicity will be needed to make us better known to the whole nation and region as the best language academy for English training, theoretical and practical research, and ELT syllabuses.

As the world has just ushered in 2019, I want to take this as an opportunity to extend my heartfelt greetings for the season and appreciate you all for your accomplishments last year. I thank you all for your support and devotion, and for any extra effort you made to help LITU achieve its challenging goals.
