How to keep your brain healthy: your 5 a day homework tasks Year 3 Homework Menu: Spring 2 nd Half Term 2020 This half term we are learning about The Romans and Plants. Pick ‘n’ mix Choose 3 items from the sweets below to be handed in by Monday 30 th March or as soon as you have finished it. Well-presented homework will be displayed around our school and children that have completed 3 items will receive a special homework certificate! Extra treats... Plant a seed or a bulb and care for it. Watch it grow and take pictures or draw images to show the different stages of growth. Describe each stage to explain what is On a map of Britain, plot and label where the Roman cities were with their Roman names and famous landmarks (e.g. Hadrian’s Wall, Colchester Castle). Draw an image of Julius Caesar. Write paragraphs to explain who he was and why he was important. Make a Roman shield. Research the style and colours they were to help you. Using time vocabulary, write a daily routine of a Roman Gladiator. Think about how to present this. Every day: Ø 5 minutes spelling Ø 5 minutes times tables practice Ø 5 minutes (or more) reading Ø 5 minutes discussing what you’ve read Ø 5 minutes chat about what you have learnt that day (Spelling lists and times table resources are on the school website) Write a newspaper report announcing the invasion of Britain. Write it from the British side or the Roman side. Try to include the features we learnt in class (e.g. headline, orientation etc).
