WELCOMEYEAR 10
PARENTS’ TRANSITIONINFORMATION EVENING
2013
ON THE AGENDA
• What has been said to your children in their transition so far…so you can support.
• Targets, planning for success and intervention.• How we monitor.• What our reports show you as parents.• Partnership for success.
Stepping up,an investment.
KS4. A new ball game.
Being prepared. These are real exam answers!
Targets
• Students will be given Target Grades for their courses.
• 4 times a year; Successbuilder Reports.• Effort, homework, attendance.• ‘IF’ grade; (The grade they will get if they keep
working as they are.).
• Intervention: we will monitor students and intervene if their IF grade is below their Target Grade.
Successbuilder and reports
• Learning Advisers• Most recent reports• Next reports
Learning advisers will mentor students in year 10 over the two years, challenging them to be their best. Parents/carers will receive 4 Success builder reports each year. On this slide there are links to two annotated reports; one that last KS3 style you received and the second a draft of what you will get in October. Both point out what you might look for to discuss at home. In both, effort is crucial and we want as much at 4+ as possible. In the new reports, you want to see your child having IF grades on or above their target level.
