Attendance and Punctuality
Arrive by 8.20am. Bell at 8.30am
If late – 15 minute detention at break / if fail 30 minute detention at lunch / if fail 60 minute detention at the end of school the same day
90% attendance looks good. However evidence suggests:
– One school year at 90% attendance equals four weeks of lessons missed
– Five years at 90% attendance is half a year missed in total.
– Achievement: 17 school days missed is equal to a GCSE grade drop in achievement.
No holidays during term time
How can I support my child?
Encourage them to be organised!
Monitor that homework is being completed on a daily / weekly basis
Ensure that revision is completed regularly and well in advance of subject tests and end of year examinations.

Encourage your child to engage in good study habits without mobile phones etc.
Regularly look through their books: discuss presentation, literacy, green pen work
Discuss strategies for improvement following reports
Go to the ‘Helping your child learn’ section of the ‘Parents’ section of the website
