Hello it´s me again.

resources are owned by the whole community and not individuals.

Page 3: Yeah it´s my land and my presentation

The process

Individual farms Kolkhozs

NO kulaks

Heavy machinery

Traditional

90% to towns10% left

Page 4: Yeah it´s my land and my presentation

My principal goal was to industrialize the U.S.S.R very rapidly.

The aims

This would increase our

resources and economy.

Page 5: Yeah it´s my land and my presentation

The translation of kolkhoz is collective farm

Page 6: Yeah it´s my land and my presentation

• Kolkhoz is an area of government owned land • Many families live within the kolkhoz which are the ones that

also farm.

Page 7: Yeah it´s my land and my presentation

• Machine-tractor stations were state-owned facilities that they rented heavy farming machinery.

KulaksThe kulaks were farmers in the USSR.

They got many benefits by the Stolypin reforms. Very wealthy. 1906

They would have larger farms, more cattle and crops.

They hired peasants to do their harder work in busy times.

Communism vs. KulaksThe kulaks were very wealthy, too much for the bolsheviks.

They were against the collectivisation.

They started to revolt against the soviets.

The communists named them a threat to the government.

DekulakizationIt was 1928. Stalin noticed that these kulaks weren’t giving enough goods in the U.S.S.R. Stalin decided to eliminate this problem to his desires. Also the Kulaks didn’t want to give their land to create colective farms. The Kulaks were forced to agree.

Sent to camps to work for the U.S.SR.

Sent to distant provinces of the U.S.SR.

Eliminated

Problems of Collectivization• They had to close their small farms and move to work in

kolkhoz’s.• Kulaks (richest peasants) were divided in 3 categories: - Actively hostile - The wealthiest kulak households. - The least harmful of kulaks.• 300,000 kulak families were deported from their homes.• Peasants hated collectivization.• Drop in food production.• The famine that Stalin wanted to prevent finally happened.
