AccreditedProfessionalCoach isUSPTA’s newestmembershipclassification and is open to Professional 1, 2 and 3membersand Master Professionals. TheAPC classification becameeffective January 1, 2011, and includesmandatory education. USPTAProfessionalmembers are required to take continuingeducationinordertoearnandmaintainAPCstatus.ThebenefitsofAPCdesignationincludeopportunitiesforcareerenhancementthrougha commitment to tennis and tennis education anddemonstration ofexpertise,andbuildingtheimageoftennis-teachingprofessionalsandtennisasaprofessionoverall. TheAPCisearnedbyaccumulating20APCcontinuingeducationcreditswithin a 2-year period.The designation ismaintained bycontinuingtoearn20APCcreditsoveratwo-yearperiod.APCcreditscanbe earned in a variety ofways including attending theUSPTAWorldConference,USPTAdivision conventions,USPTA specialtycourses,USTAHighPerformanceeducation,viewingDVDseminarsandmore. Typically,twohoursofqualifyingeducationconstituteoneCEU.TheopportunitytoearncreditsatUSPTAWorldConferencesanddivisionconventionswillrequirememberstofilloutaformforcreditatthebeginningoftheseminarorspecialtycourse(thatiscollectedattheendoftheseminar),inordertoverifyattendanceforcredit.Formoredetailsregardingqualifyingcredits,[email protected]. Oncemembersachievethisdistinction,theywillbeissuedaspecialcertificatewithanexpirationdateandthedesignationwillbeaddedaftertheirprofessionalrating.Thecertificatewillbeavailableonlinetoprintfromthemembermanagementareaofwww.uspta.com,wherememberscanloginwithnameandmembernumber. WhiletheAPCclassificationdidn’tbecomeeffectiveuntilJanuary2011, thosememberswho attended specialty courses at theWorldConferenceinSeptemberandcompletedtheformsforcredit,willhavethosecreditscounttowardtheAPCclassification. In2010,UnitedStatesProfessionalTennisAssociationteachingprofessionalsraisedmorethan$5millionforcharitythroughtheassociation’sLessonsforLife™program.
