That scene of death was going to come, one way or another. A young man, wielding a sword (Seemingly forged of bronze), was battling… An un-human, other-worldly beast that radiated power more than even the King of the Gods, Zeus, who I had seen with my own eyes (But that’s a story for another day). He, for I felt he was male, boasted colossal, bulky legs, and rough feet clad in well-worn sandals. From the waist up, he was covered in matted fur; fur that grew upon the chest and arms of a wrestler. No weapons could be seen on him, because his calloused hands looked like they were a tool of destruction in themselves. Most terrifying of all, blood-stained horns sprouted from a snorting raging head with a foaming mouth. The beast was huge! Even the frayed kilt he wore had to be XXXXXXXL! Then came the sudden realisation that I was witnessing the legendary battle between the noble Prince Theseus and the destructive Minotaur. And as this thought hit me, the Minotaur pinned Theseus to the ground, fingers outstretched, ready to rip his throat out…

I felt a strange buzzing sensation in my ears; like a thousand humming birds had somehow got inside my body, and were flapping as rapidly and noisily as they could. It was a sensation I expected, but still it brought a feeling of nausea. Understandably so, if you knew my time-machine was about to rip me apart, atom from atom; fling ,me through the time-space continuum; and finally reconstruct me at the site of a significant historical event. Which one, not even I could predict with a degree of accuracy. In my last time-travel, I witnessed the demise of Chronos, Titan Emperor. Feeling the pins and needles that preceded the time-travel, I braced myself for possibly a scene of death…

Try as I might, I could not intervene. None from the past could feel, hear or see me—and I could change nothing. I could merely stand and watch as the Minotaur lent forward and grabbed at Theseus’s neck—and by some miracle , he managed to roll out the way, flip himself up in an instant, and stab the Minotaur in the neck—he was dead! But now the moment had passed, the time-machine was bringing me back to the present, where I could recharge it for another journey...
