Application Developer Profile• Create the profile option as shown below

• Then go back to system administrator, query this profile option and set it at the site level to your codeset value returned in the earlier sql statement

with "RG_DEBUG_ON" set to yes, or "FSG: Debug" set to yes, a new profile option must be created

• Since value is free-form, be sure to set to ‘Y’, not ‘Yes’

FSG Template Common Issues• Request 'Xml Report Publisher' Erroring With

XDOException When Published In PDF Format [ID 417810.1] – Sequence/Position of columns must be in ascending order -

otherwise column width values become negative causing a java error

• Xml Publisher Drops Two Columns And Changes Template Alignment [ID 464418.1] – Don't overlap columns and position in ascending order

• Signal 11 Error – A memory error which can have several causes– The latest patchset addresses current bug – FSG definitions also can cause this error– Note: Large FSG reports sometimes cause this error



FSG process flows• Two step process

– Request FSG Report using XML as the output option, either from the Submit Financial Report window or from the Submit Request window (Program - Run Financial Statement Generator)

– From the concurrent manager, run the 'XML Report Publisher' process, applying the relevant template

• One step process - run the Program - Publish FSG Report from the Submit Request window

• Financial Report Submission from Report Manager

• FSG text output designed for four widths– 80, 132, 180, 255– Anything > 255 required export to spreadsheet

• XML subtracts margins from these totals using 10 CPI plus cell margin, for example– 8 ½ X 11 paper, landscape– Template has 1/2 inch margins, cell has .08 margin

• 132 minus 10 (margins) minus 2 (cell margin) minus 1 (currency format) = 119 maximum

– Must allow 1 extra space for any negatives if 'Currency: Negative Format' not set to: –XXX



FSG: Basic Template (RGFSGXPB.rtf)• Use 'Build Column Set' to verify ending

position of last column• If exceeds "allowable end column", report

wraps to next page





FSG: Basic Template (RGFSGXPB.rtf)• Font size of 'Report Data' element does not

shift horizontal placement– If get too big, wraps within the column

• Proportional fonts still align numbers• Negative Currency Format can cause number

to shift– Text version properly aligns numbers
