Book Boxing and Socialising
20:00 - WEDNESDAY 29 NOVEMBER
Location: StúdentakjallarinnAddress: Háskólatorg - University Square, University of Iceland, Sæmundargata, 101 ReykjavíkOrganisor: Pontus Järvstad, University of Iceland
On behalf of XIV Nordic Labour History Conference we would like to invite you for a fun and relaxed evening of book boxing in the local university pub and diner/bistro Stúdentakjallarinn.
We have been inspired by the book boxing event held at the first conference of the European Labour History Network in Turin 2015. Book boxing is a social event where researchers get an opportunity to shortly present their work to their peers over a pint of beer, a glass of wine, or other refreshments.
• Bring a monograph, an edited book or an article, or even a project description. It can be yoor own work or any work of interest for the group.
• Give a brief (max 2 minutes!), preferably funny and witty, presentation.
• The other participants get a chance to ask short question. No lengthy discussions, preferably only 5-7 minutes per presentation.
• And then a new speaker follows…
Everyone is invited to take part in the event, not just the ones presenting.
There is no need to announce your presentation in advance, come as you are and in case of questions contact Pontus Järvstad at [email protected] who is be organising the event.
