From the time God made man, he has been calling upon his Creator for blessings both temporal and spiritual. Since He has commanded men everywhere to pray without ceasing, and therefore, H we expeet God's ble!>Sings upon us, we should' meet together, statedly for prayer, as we have many examples in God's word to do so.

Realizing that the young people should be taught the doctrine of Christ and His Apostles, especially· in regard to His church, as the Gospel is to be preached to all the world through the medium of the church. · ,

Therefore, we recommend that they be induced to ~ sist in the business part as well as the devotional services of the church.

We also recommend that the younger ·brethren be sent to our Fifth Sunday Meetings and Associations as c.ften as possible. Teach them to ·contribute to all benevo:_ lentJ purposes, and educate them m the doctrines of the· Rible. . · .

We, your Committee on Prohibition, submit the fol­lowing report :

That, whereas the scriutures plainly forbid the use of any beverage, even forbidding us to keep company with those who use intoxicants. Also cautions us of its baneful effects finally.

And, whereas, from every standpoint, intemperance impedes our progress, blights our lives, ruins our homes

" <<nd bring our offspring to untimely graves. Therefore, be it resolved bv the churches of Howard

Cou~ty Association, that we, as a people, do all in our power to suppress this traffic and keep down the sale and t!se of this demon of strong drink.

Be it further resolved that we warn our people against the political intrigues of our enemies, who will doubtless take advantage of the referendum to have repealed the ''Newberry Bill," passed by the last Legtslature, which ~rovides for state-~id~prohibition t~ take effect January I, 1916. .

Be it further resolved, that we, as a body, recommend that ea_ch church discipline their members for dram-drink- ·

We, your Committee on Literature, beg to sutin)it the following report: · (

Much is being said these d'ays about Literature, both good and ba"-. Some like the good, and some like the bad. · We have books papers and tracts upon every ·imaginable subject today. in all our book stores and news stands all over our country. Some of. these books, tracts and papers · are filled with mattef' of the poorest and most unwholesome character. Men should not read them, neither should we <LIIow them a place ~n our homes. Your commi~ee is very • much of the impression that there is just about as much danger to the good morals of men and women in reading Lad, trashy literature as there is in constant assiciation with bad company. No human tongue can tell the awful harm that the bad and hurtful books and literature o£--to­<lay is bringing to the young men and women of this gen­(•ration, and blocking the way of their everlasting good ~.nd that salvation of the soul that comes only by faith ~n Jesus Christ, our Lord. .

We would, therefore, recommen4 that our-people read and study the Holy Bible. . . .

2nd. We would' further recommend that our people read only good and . wholesome bqo!cs.

3rd. We would also recommend that all our people take and read "The Baptist Commoner," "The Baptist" <•.nd the "Baptist Flag." .
