1. Stalemate

• A situation during a

conflict in which both sides are equally

powerful and neither one will give in.

2. Alliance

• A close association of nations formed to advance common interests or causes.

• The “Triple Entente” included Russia, France, and Great Brittan.

• The “Triple Alliance” included Austria-Hungry, Germany, and Italy.
