WELCOME

Sunday 8th June 2014 at Young Showgrounds, NSW, 2594.

It has been a “long time between drinks”, since Wyona Alpaca Stud has conducted an auction.

Be that as it may, our FULL SPECTRUM Production Sale, is poised to set new bench marks for the

alpaca auctioning stage.

The sale will offer colour lines from our BLACK, BROWN, GREY AND FAWN HERDS. All have originated

from 24 years of breeding same colour to same colour. Wyona’s unwavering passion for improving the

“colour integrity” of our stock, offers the fortunate purchaser enhanced colour prediction for their coloured

breeding endeavours. Additionally, Wyona prides itself in the pursuance of strong and correct

conformation, all the alpacas presented by us have this in common.

Contained within this auction, the alpacas offered will all radiate from our show winning stock. There will

be a selection of females, a sprinkling of mature females who have either won significant ribbons in their

showing careers, or produced elite show winning progeny for us or our clients. All breeding females of the

appropriate age in this auction will have conceived quickly, delivered easily and raised their cria to

weaning unassisted.

There will be younger stock, both female and male offered that I have selected to represent Wyona in our

show team, underlining the quality that we are offering in this auction.

Wyona is keen to bring it to all interested breeders attention that ALL mature females (over 3 years old)

offered for auction will be 3 in 1 PACKAGES.

Our intent is to have all mature females sold with a cria at foot, and pregnant on the day of the auction. If

there is a female not having met these conditions at that time, Wyona will offer a free service to a stud

sire (of the purchasers choice and owned by Wyona Alpaca Stud at the time of the auction) to

accompany these females.

Where the females are too young to be pregnant at the time of the sale, a free mating to a Wyona stud

male will accompany the purchase.

We have also decided to offer several of our outstanding Stud Sires in this auction. All of these stud

males have either an outstanding showing career in their own right or have produced elite show stock for

us. This will be an amazing opportunity for any dedicated coloured breeder to procure specifically bred

coloured genetics from an Australian stud that has bred dedicated colour herds for over 23 years.

WYONA ALPACA STUD will have all alpacas offered in this sale accompanied by a current Veterinary

Health Inspection Certificate and where applicable, a Confirmation of Pregnancy Ultrasound Certificate

issued by our Veterinarian.

Catering: Catering facilities will be available at the event, in the Main Hall.

Registration: Pre online registration is available from www.gtsm.net.au Pre registrations close 24 hours before sale day.

Registration for bidders will also be taken on the day of auction.

Payment terms: Cash, cheque, EFT, Bank Card, VISA and EFTPOS will be available on the day. (there is a 1.5% surcharge on Bankcard & Visa) Payment by cheque is strictly by prior arrangement only. The vendor reserves the right to refuse removal of any animals from venue until funds are clear. Overseas transactions are to be in Australian Dollars at time of the fall of the hammer. GST will be charged on top of the final bid price (ie. $1500 + $150 GST)

There will be a transport co-ordinator operating. All stock require a transport slip from the office prior to departing venue. All halters/leads etc will remain the property of the Vendor.

Buyers are encouraged to arrange their own transportation also.

Insurance: Insurance is recommended for all sale animals and will be available on the day from CGU Insurance, purchasers are also welcome to arrange their own insurance.

Blue Grass Leroy Brown

Running Creek Frontera

“Leroy” is an amazing solid dark brown sire. Leroy has superior lineage descended from some of Australia’s

most prestigious sires. This has produced a sire comparable to none in his colour in Australia to date. Leroy has had an incredibly successful show career across Australia, winning Championship ribbons in

fleece and lead on his 3rd

fleece.

Leroy’s offspring now fly his banner for him in the showring.

A magnificently conformed male with real panache! Still producing a very distinct, bolder style of crimp with

great density. A true to type Huacaya sire, with plentiful bone structure and proportion.

REFERENCE SIRES

“Frontera” was selectively chosen for his spectacular fleece characteristics. This sire possesses an incredibly dense fleece that is hard to open due to the density. The

combination of his retention of fineness of micron combined with this density puts Frontera in an elite stud

sire category. With beautiful brightness emanating from his fleece, a

softness of handle is also felt across the body. An elite stud sire has the ability to reproduce his fleece qualities consistently in his progeny, and Frontera has

most certainly performed this task with distinction. At last tally 13 out of his 18 registered cria had already won

ribbons, often Championships and Best Colour awards. Wyona has used him exclusively in our Brown breeding

herd as we knew he would help elevate the herd to a higher level of excellence, producing progeny from white

through to mid brown, all solid in colour. Our success with his progeny in the show ring over the

past 18 months has been spectacular.

Wyona Sunsprite

“Sunsprite” is a stunning son of Blue Grass Waterloo Sunset with absolutely amazing fleece statistics. He is a true Rose Grey, with extremely correct conformation and

wonderful substance of bone. He is a smaller framed male with exquisite true to type Huacaya characteristics.

Sunsprite exhibits a very dense, well aligned elite style of fleece, growing in consistent fine staples, displaying an even high frequency crimp style from skin to staple tip.

Abundant lustre with a super soft handle is found throughout his fleece.

Bred from the elite and multi award winning males of the famous Windsong Valley herd, featuring WV Royal Inca,

WV Taboo and WV Nevada, this young male has astounding genetics in his illustrious pedigree rarely found

together and often unobtainable.

Sunsprite also has an impressive show record.

A superfine male with a silky soft handle and phenomenal current fleece statistics that he has proven to instil in his progeny.

Nostradamus produces an array of colours in his progeny, but when mated to SOLID BLACK females he has a strong prevalence to

producing solid black offspring.

Nostradamus is also well suited to producing super fine greys, both of the silver and rose persuasion.

He is extremely correct in his conformation, with excellent balance throughout his frame. He is of medium height, and is still producing a high frequency crimp style, though his amplitude had lessened slightly

with his older age.

“Cas” is a multiple Champion and SUPREME CHAMPION winning solid true black stud sire!

Incredible strength of bone and correct proportion throughout his frame give this outstanding solid true black male a head start in the sire’s stakes! Cas is still producing a magnificent fleece, carrying a high frequency, well defined crimp style

from base to tip. His superior follicular density combined with a genetic disposition to retain a low micron into older age is

another of this males outstanding characteristics. Softness in the fleece handle and high lustre are additional

characteristics worthy of mentioning.

But what really separates the “also rans” from the winner is his ability to produce consistent, Championship winning solid

true black progeny! Not once but many times over. With offspring standing at stud or as integral breeding females in

elite black herds, his progeny are to be found in Australia and overseas.

“Touareg” is a handsome and proudly upstanding solid black male with exciting fleece statistics for the dedicated

breeder of fine black alpacas.

“Sunset Ice” is one of two rarely offered females by the phenomenal rose grey sire. BLUE GRASS WATERLOO SUNSET from the Wyona stud.

Though she abounds with grey genetics in her pedigree, Wyona has chosen to join her to both a grey sire and more recently a light fawn sire. Both matings resulted in excellent

quality progeny, one female offspring being retained within the Wyona grey breeding herd.

Sunset Ice’s female cria from 2013, W. Sunset Frost, has been successfully shown in 2014, winning Champion Junior Female at the recent Goulburn Show in NSW. This

young daughter of W. Sunset Ice is also presented for sale at this auction.

“Sunset Ice” possesses great depth of frame while maintaining correct proportions. Ample density with a distinct medium style crimp and good handle are obvious when her

fleece is opened.

“Rob Roy” is by a magnificent sire, the solid medium brown “Wyterrica Rory”, originally bred by Wendy Hart and Ross Delmenico of Wyterrica Alpaca Stud. Rob Roy’s dam is by the Alpacas of Distinction owned solid dark brown

male, “Blue Grass Leroy Brown”, who had a very impressive showing history in his day. Wyona and Distinction have used this outstanding solid dark brown stud male extensively in our brown breeding program, where he consistently

produces top quality show stock for us. Our best brown dams are all by him.

Rob Roy has been shown very successfully across the Australian Show Circuit. He has a magnificent stature, with eye-catching show ring presence. Extremely handsome are words not wasted on Rob Roy.

Rob Roy is consistently producing an extremely fine stapled fleece with a high frequency crimp seen from the base

to the tip of the staple. His fleece displays a very high lustre and a wonderful softness of handle, combined with good density.

With near perfect conformation and a gentle temperament, this outstanding solid medium brown male does not disappoint the conscientious breeder of fine alpacas. The integrity of his pedigree with reference to the brown

genetics is very impressive. His first cria are on the ground and Rob Roy has created a nearly perfect reproduction of himself in female form. Wyona has retained one female by Rob Roy within our stud, as she has the depth of

brown colour integrity within her pedigree that we find extremely desirable.

What a start to the 2014 showing year! “Fortune” has hit

the show-ring with resounding success. Fortune is yet

another outstanding example of the elite quality offspring

that our outstanding sire Running Creek Frontera is

consistently delivering.

RC Frontera has produced a remarkably high percentage

of ribbon winning offspring for the number of his offspring

born, most of them have been awarded Champion and

Best Colour awards. In his limited breeding time, this is

quite an amazing achievement.

Fortune is a “pocket rocket” at the moment. Being of a

smaller frame does not impede his ability to produce an

incredible fleece loaded with extreme lustre, consistent,

uniform staples throughout his fleece that extends into his

extremities. Fineness of micron and superb handle

combine to deliver an elite fleece of great density.

Fortune ticks all the boxes for a future stud sire capable

of instilling elite fleece characteristics, excellent and

correct conformation in his future progeny. This young

male has a beautifully balanced frame displaying a great

strength of bone throughout. He is a real delight to handle due to his gentle

disposition.

Fortune has been bred from our best brown genetics, from a female brown line that

Wyona has cherished and nurtured for many years. Our persistence in producing

coloured alpacas with the highest degree of integrity of colour in their pedigrees is of

huge importance to Wyona.

We feel that this gives the purchaser of any of our coloured stock, a real sense of

security in predicting the colour of the progeny if there are reliable and strong colour

“Elegence” is a soft rose grey female with a capacious correct frame and

excellent strength of bone through-out. In her younger days she placed well in

major Vic shows.

Elegence has a remarkable ability to retain a low micron along with acceptable

S.D. and C.V figures. In our October 2013 shearing, at 6 years of age, her

fleece micron was still a staggeringly low 21.93. Elegence fleece displays a very

fine micron accompanied with a high frequency crimp style with good density.

One of her past offspring won his class at Perth Royal Show, when Wyona sent

a team of 4 alpacas to compete. Elegence is sold with a solid medium brown

female cria at foot by the stunning spotless silver grey sire Eurilla Hannibal

whom Wyona owned for several years. Elegence is being joined this autumn to

our silver grey sire, Distinction Zayne, who is also featuring in this sale.

With illustrious alpaca industry stud sires appearing in her pedigree Elegence is

almost spotless in her colour, a beautiful grey breeding female.

“Zenzei” is a true dark roan female, radiating out of a phenomenal grey

pedigree! With only 1 colour other than grey present in her AAA pedigree,

she would be a desirable addition for the conscientious grey breeder’s herd.

A well grown female with an eye catching presence, Zenzei stands out in the

herd. She has excellent point coverage and produces a very long stapled

fleece annually. This of course adds to the commercial weight of her fleece,

putting her in the HEAVY cutting category. A very “true to type” huacaya

alpaca with a distinct lower frequency crimp style with a deep amplitude.

With 2 female offspring so far, one being retained in the Wyona stud, the

other will also be offered for sale today, W. Hannabelle.

“Seska” presents as a profoundly conformationally correct solid true black breeding

With good results in the black show ring already this year, Royal Sunset is a

balanced throughout her frame, showing excellent substance of bone while

By our old super fine solid black sire, J. Centauri, he has won impressive awards at Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Canberra Royal Shows and at our AAA National Show, for 3 consecutive years.

This combination of parents has already produced show winning progeny of the highest level with the likes of Wyona Sunset’s Triumph (MG) sold to the UK, and

Wyona Sunscent still retained within the Wyona elite breeding herd. It is extremely rare for Wyona to release a female by Blue Grass Waterloo Sunset.

“Sun’s Essence” is an extremely gentle natured female. She possesses correct huacaya proportions of frame displaying a deep girth and well sprung ribcage, she has

matured to be of good medium height.

Stunning lustre, follicular density and consistency of crimp throughout her fleece are just some of her strongest characteristics. The silkiness to the touch of her well aligned fleece which grows in uniform staples across her body can be seen in her fleece photo.

“Fabienne” is by the multi Championship winning dark fawn sire, Elsendale Fernando.

With the elite names of P. Brigantine, B Lorimer, P Minderoo and ILR Peruvian Drambuie in her pedigree, she is classed in the elite stud stock category. She has been bred out of Wyona’s top brown dam lines and has very correct conformation

coupled with a dense, lustrous fleece containing highly desirable fleece characteristics.

A beautiful upstanding light brown female who breeds top show quality offspring.

Her first cria, W. Lolly is being retained in our stud, with the subsequent dark fawn female offspring (W. Fabalicious) performing very well in last year’s showing season winning 3 x First Places, a Reserve Champion Junior Female and 2 x Third Places.

As a result of the stunning offspring from the last progeny, Wyona decided to repeat the mating to RC Frontera last year, which has produced a stunning SLB male cria.



“Trinkett” is absolutely adorable! Out of one of my sweetest natured BG Waterloo

Sunset females (Wyona Sunstruck), she has certainly got her mother’s nature.

We decided to use Wyona Touareg over this dam in an attempt to produce some

amazing greys……instead we got amazing fawns!

This sweet young female has an absolutely luscious feeling to her fleece, showing

the nourishment in stunning staples gleaming with lustre. She has a dense and

fine fleece with a remarkably consistent medium style of crimp all over her body

and down into her extremities.

TRINKETT is very correct in frame with correct huacaya proportions and type.

She will mature to be of medium build and height. Lightly but successfully shown.

“Sara” was purchased by Wyona several years ago for the genetically fine influence and her new and exciting genetic imprint she could instil in our stud. As she has delivered us with a stunning silver grey female, she is now being made available for other discerning breeders of fine

quality grey alpacas to utilize within their studs. “Sara” has an impressive grey pedigree on her dam’s side, helping to cement the lovely silver grey gene in her progeny. She has a very soft handling fleece with a delicate style of crimp found over her body. A

larger style of female with impressive conformation. Whilst “Sara” has been in our stud she has produced 100% silver grey

offspring.



This spotless true silver grey female has produced 3 spotless silver grey offspring from the 4 cria she has delivered. The remaining coloured cria was a black.

“Boadecia” is a large framed female with very solid bone structure. She was a large cria at birth and has matured accordingly. With time, the strength of her top line is

not what it used to be in her prime, but this has absolutely no effect on her ability to deliver unassisted. Wyona retains one of her superfine silver grey daughters as this

genetic combination has proven to produce greys. None of her offspring have exhibited any loss of strength in their top lines. It is due to her ability to produce

sound offspring that we offer her for sale. For a mature female, “Boadecia” produces an incredibly fine, soft and amazingly

lustrous fleece each year. High frequency fleece style with a delicate crimp, she will be joined to D. Zayne this autumn, thereby reinforcing the silver grey colour gene in

the progeny.

“Zayne” was the first of our Distinction Zuma offspring. “Zuma” was a stunning light silver grey and spotless. We miss him greatly!

As can be seen, Zayne is a magnificent spotless light grey male. His fleece is best described as being like spun silver. It is a profoundly soft, well nourished fleece, with

blinding lustre and well formed and correct character with a broader style of consistent crimp throughout. He produces a very long uniform staple of great

commercial significance. He is showing great density within his fleece.

Zayne is a very well grown male, with wonderful conformation and correct balance throughout his frame. He possesses substantial strength of bone and great

presence.

Zayne is totally unrelated to any of our previously bred Wyona and Distinction grey sires. Both his sire and dam originate from Western Australian stock, making him a very precious commodity within a sound grey breeding program which demands a

wide genetic base.

He is a true silver grey with a genetically low fleece micron. Zayne is producing silver grey and solid true black progeny at an elite level.

Zayne’s progeny have already hit the show rings within Australia, proving that his genetics are well worthy of inclusion in the grey producing fraternity. With one of his

cria in 2014 winning the prestigious “Best Colour” award, while never being unplaced at any show!

“Hadrian” is a very upstanding son of Eurilla Hannibal, a magnificent soft silver

grey sire owned by Wyona for a few years.

With both Sire & Dam silver grey, all 4 silver grey grandparents and 4 great

grandparent silver as well, this young male comes with a phenomenal silver

grey pedigree that will cement this grey gene into your breeding herd.

Hadrian has be shown lightly but successfully this year. He is producing a very

long staple of medium crimp style annually. His fleece is very soft and extremely

lustrous with good density throughout.
