Shardminds are thefragments of the LivingGate, which once stood
tokeep aberrations and Daelkyrfrom entering the world.Even with its
eternalwatchfulness, somecreatures managed to getthrough, resulting
in thevarious aberrations that nowinfest the planes.
Recently,however, an unknown forcesmashed apart the gate,sending
millions of shardfragments throughout theAstral Plane. Within
threeweeks of the destruction ofthe Living Gate, a new typeof
creature evolved; theShardminds.
Shardminds are clusters ofpsionically focused crystalsthat have
gathered together

into a humanoid shape. Theyhave learned to take on ahumanoid
form (the formthey usually are in) to betterinteract with
othercreatures. Shardminds comein a variety of colors,including
blue, green, purple,and (most commonly) red.Despite their
relatively newcreation, Shardminds areexceedingly wise
andintelligent; it is believed thatthis is leftover from
thecollective consciousness ofthe Living Gate. Regardlessof where
exactly this innateintelligence comes from, itensures that all
Shardmindsare aware of how they werecreated. Most still dontknow
why.
Some groups of Shardminds(referred to as ThoughtBuilders)
believe that thedestruction of the LivingGate was a terrible
accident,and now they must worktogether to rebuild it. Theybelieve
that they mustgather up all Shardminds andform together again to

the Living Gate whole. Notall of these Shardminds arepurely
benevolent. Some arewilling to torture and coerceother Shardminds
intoreforming the gate.
Another group (the GodShards) believes that if theGate is
recreated, there willstill be a chance that it willfall again
sometime in thefuture. Instead, they believethat Shardminds
shouldbecome as powerful as theycan psionically to face thegrowing
aberration threat incombat. These Shardmindsare highly
individualistic, andtend to be more chaoticthan the other
types.
The final group (ShardSlayers) believes that theircreation was a
mistake.They believe that when aShardmind dies, their soulsform
part of the Living Gate.So, they believe that inorder to bring the
LivingGate back to its formerglory, all Shardminds mustbe killed.

are obsessed with thegenocide of their own race,and wander the
Astral Planein search of their latestvictims. These Shardmindsare
often viewed associopaths, but many trulybelieve that the genocide
oftheir race is a saddening,but necessary, task.
Shardminds (no matterwhich gender theyresemeble) are thin
andsleek, weighing 90 pounds.Most are human height, butothers may
have modeledtheir height after othermedium humanoids, like Elvesor
Half-Orcs. All Shardmindsspeak Undercommon, andmost also speak
Common.
CombatShardminds usually attackwith their powers first.
Ifheavily damage, they revertto their shard swarm formsto
attack.

You list two different LevelAdjustments. Is it +4 or +1?+1 would
probably beplayable, +4 probably not.
They manifest as a Wilder,but have Psion as a favoredclass. This
doesn't makesense. If they naturallymanifest as Wilders, any

Some of those are minorerrors. I copy pasted frommy old stats
for the mostpart, and I must've forgot tochange those.
Level Adjustment is +4, andthe favored class is Wilder.
served taking Wilderlevels to continue itsnatural manifesting
andkeep getting level-appropriate powersinstead of resetting
tolevel 1.

it is unplayably bad.
Construct hit dice areterrible. You have four ofthem. Getting 3
powers foryour four hit dice is barelyan even trade. With LA
+1,you're still worse than alevel 5 Wilder.
Really, do this followingexperiment. Get a level 5wilder and a
Shardmind withno levels. Have them duke itout. Watch as
theShardmind gets ravagedover and over by someonewith more and
better powersand class features thatmatter. Alternately, makethem
LA +4, then make aShardmind Wilder 1 and havehim adventure with a
partyof 9th level characters.Watch as his terrible hit diceand
horrible casting fails tobe important and how hecan be killed ON
ACCIDENTby anything.

Also where are their featsfrom I don't recognize them.
LA +1 looks about right.Shardform is neat but makesyou drop

That is another unedittederror from the LA +1 version.If you
look in the monsterentry, there is indeed a +2bonus to charisma
instead ofwisdom. I'll fix that, now.
EDIT: Feats are fromExpanded Psionics
Also where are theirfeats from I don'trecognize them.

I've always preferred savageprogressions (what can Isay, I'm
