Building Project Update
The first three sections of the indoor renovation are finished although they are temporarhousing staff and materials while the Reference Desk area, the old Teen area, and theSumner History Room are being worked on.
One of the most notable permanent changesto the configuration of the library is that Adultfiction and non-fiction have switched locations.Mysteries are now on the outside walls of thebay window Area. Large print, religious fiction, and paperbacks are located in the middle ofthat area. Regular fiction starts in the samelocation that the non-fiction started in the mainstacks. Science-Fiction/Fantasy is located onthe walls outside of the public restrooms.
The Circulation Department, Audio/Visual Department, and the lobby are next on the listThe front entryway, which will house the new Circulation Department, and the ChildrensDepartment will be completed last. Due to the renovation in the Childrens area, allprograms, events, and regular story times will be on hiatus in January.
