Toshiba Chromebook 2 Display ReplacementIf one day your TOSHIBA display is not working properly, there are specific guide to troubleshoot
the display, and try to figure out what the problem is.
When trying to troubleshoot the monitor, check for the most obvious physical problems. Such as, acrack on the outer case of the monitor, shattered LED screen, or low light emission from the LED.
If there is a crack on the outer caseof the display so that the display isworking properly, but there isdistractions on the screen from theshattered case. In that case, theouter case can be easily replaced. Itis just a matter of pulling the plasticcase that’s stuck against the LEDscreen, and push the new caseback in its place.
Step 2
• Shattered LED screen is when youpush your finger against the screen, you see some kind of a rainboweffect around your finger. If the LEDscreen is shattered, it is unusable, and needs to be replaced with anew LED screen.
• If setting the picture manually didnot change the brightness, it simplymeans that the LED in the back ofthe LED screenis broke. Thatmeans a new LED screen isrequired.
Step 5
To replace your display screen youneed to shut down the computerfirst.
Frist, remove the screw covers witha small hobby knife. Use a PH #0(Philips screwdriver) to unscrew thecouple of screws in the front screenbezel.
Step 9
Once you are done with unscrewing, snap off the screen bezel. To dothat, you need to reach yourfingernails of both hands on theinside of the screen bezel in the leftor right side of the screen, andgently lift up and out.
You will hear a snapping sound.Work your way around the screenbezel.
Step 11
Once you take out the screen bezel, four screws mount the LED screen. Unscrew them, tilt thescreen forward, and lay it on the keyboard exposing the backside of the screen.
Once you do that, you will see thescreen has only one connector. Usethe hobby knife to lift up theadhesive tape (Be careful not to cutit) Pull the adhesive tape back, andgrab the back of the connector withboth your fingers, and gently pull theconnector back out. Now the screenis loose.
Put the new 13.3’ LED screen in itsplace and start by connecting thescreen connector. Put the screenwhere it is supposed to be mountedat, and screw back the four screwsthat hold the screen.
Step 14
Now it’s a matter of putting thescreen bezel back by pushing it in tostay around the screen.
