to reduce the costs and time needed to control its intranet and Internet sites that were running Joomla open-source content management software.

Talha Çamaş, Head of the Education Committee, Darüşşafaka High School, says: “It was becoming difficult to hire developers within our budget to maintain our communications requirements without committing significant capital resources. So we started a search for an out-of-the-box solution using cloud computing.”

its corporate website www.darussafaka.org. This gave the organization confidence that Simternet was an appropriate and highly-qualified business partner.

Simternet offers the full service needed to deploy a website, including domain name registration, email hosting, and ready-to-use templates and modules. Ay says: “We offered the school our hosted Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 solution on a shared farm. It covers not only hosted SharePoint but a website creator wizard running on the provisioning tool developed by Simternet.”

Darüşşafaka deployed the new website—www.darussafaka.k12.tr—initially in Turkish and later released an English language version. Çamaş says: “We’ve been helped considerably by Simternet in establishing the new website and intranet in a matter of weeks. As our digital marketing and hosting partner, it also met our training needs.”

BenefitsBy replacing open-source software with Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, Darüşşafaka will reduce the time it takes to change content on its website and intranet from hours to minutes. Through the cloud, Simternet is offering its customer a highly competitive monthly pay-as-you-go financial model that requires no upfront capital commitment. Users find it easy to work with the software and require minimal training because of their familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

No developer costs with self-service solution. Teachers and administrators at Darüşşafaka can change content on the website without waiting for developers to pick up new tasks. Çamaş says: “With Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, changing content takes two minutes whereas before it could take hours. Plus, we don’t need any third-party assistance—this is the biggest benefit for us.”

More predictable costs on a pay-as-you-go basis. The school is taking advantage of its Microsoft low-cost volume licensing arrangement as a nonprofit organization, and now has no need for a new physical infrastructure. Çamaş says: “We will be saving thousands of dollars a year with SharePoint Server 2010, and will get software updates automatically at no extra cost.”

Comprehensive support for users. Simternet has provided teachers and administrators with a customized set of templates and modules using Web Parts, which support sophisticated content such as videos, blogs, and picture libraries. Çamaş says: “These add-on services come as part of our deal—they would have been unaffordable before.”

Fast time to market for website. With the Simternet solution, it takes two minutes to get the new website ready for editing and rollout. Ay says: “Our provisioning tool is the first and currently only solution developed for SharePoint Server 2010. It gives small and medium-sized enterprises the power of SharePoint Server through the cloud.”
