Sherry and I would like to extend an

invitation to our previous and future bull

buyers to our first Annual "Wrangler

Made Bull Sale".

I was introduced to this great white breed

over 40 plus years ago. My Dad, Gordon

Meakin, brought home three bred heifers.

Since then, Charolais blood has run

through my veins. I would like to thank

my Dad for having the foresight to see

how extraordinary these cattle are.

Over time we introduced our Charolais

cattle to others by attending local fairs. Showing the cattle lead to an appreciation of this breed by people

near and far. Soon we were showing cattle at Farm Fair.

In 1984 my Dad was a founding member of the newly formed North Central Alberta Charolais Breeders or

NCACB. It was a busy and exciting time as my sisters and I would get the bulls ready for the sales. Over the

years, we have had as many as 25 members in NCACB. Definitely good times and great memories will be

cherished. Three solid families – the Lakustas, the Prokudas, and the Meakins remain as members.

When my Dad started to slow down, Sherry and I were starting to sell our bulls through NCACB. The

Meakin tradition continues.

Now in 2013, we have increased our quality and quantity to the point we are extending this invitation to our

first annual ‘Wrangler Made Bull Sale’ at Sekura Triple J on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.

Come early and see the bulls, join us for lunch at noon, sale starts at 1:30 pm.

Delivery of Bull:Free delivery on all bulls up to 300 km's. Any distance over 300 km's will be at cost to buyer.

Board after Sale:On yearling bulls we will be happy to provide free board until May 1, 2013. After May 1, 2013 there will be a charge of $3.00 per day. All bulls returning to the seller must be insured. Insurance will be available sale day from Stockmans Insurance.

Semen Testing:All bulls will be scrotal measured and semen evaluated prior to the sale.

Breeder Guarantee:All bulls sell under the standard terms and conditions set out by the Canadian Charolais Association.

Sight Unseen Purchase Program:We hope that will be able to attend the sale, but if you can't make it on Sale Day, our Sight Unseen Purchase Program has been developed to assist you with your sale selections and purchase. Let Wade know what type of bull(s) you are looking for and he will select a bull(s) that will meet your expectations. A Sale Staff will look after the bidding for you. PLEASANT DAWN SPAWN 765WPleasant Dawn Spawn is a homozygous poll, easy doing, well-muscled bull which I had the fortune to partner up with this exciting bull with the Harvie's at Olds. I selected him on his style, large hoof, super testicle development and his thick hair coat which has been passed on to his progeny. His first calf crop was well received by Purebred and Commercial breeders alike. We have 10 sons on offer having all the traits their sire has. There is a son that will work on heifer or cow. So check them out on sale day or come to the farm and see them and their dams.

PRO-CHAR SMIRNOFF 25USmirnoff was used for two years in my heifer pen with great success. Dark red factor bull which is long as a freight train, but smooth made which makes him a super calving easy sire. To date he has not thrown a white calf. So if you are looking to put color in your herd consider a Smirnoff son. 6 sons sell.

Terms & Conditions

TERMS – The terms the sale are cash or payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made previous to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made.

BID – Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.

DISPUTES – In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer's decision in such matters will be final.

PURCHASER'S RISK – Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser's risk for a reasonable time.

ANNOUNCEMENTS from the auction block will take prece-dence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are there-fore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY – The proper Registration or Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement has been made.

SHIPPING – Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchas-er. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.

GUARANTEE – All animals will carry standard breeding guarantee as specified by the Canadian Charloise Association. At no time shall the seller's liability exceed the purchased price of the animal.

EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE – In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction tech-niques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

ACCIDENTS – Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Owners, auctioneer, or Sale Staff assumes any responsibility in this mat-ter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS – The above terms and condi-tions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of ani-mals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
