1 Worship Team Basics Based on material “The Art of Worship Team Leadership” A seminar led by Greg Scheer and Paul Ryan VOCALISTS “The role of the vocalist is to support confident congregational singing.” ‐‐Greg Scheer, The Art of Worship, p. 125 Things that Undermine Congregational Singing Poor repertoire will eventually lead to disinterested worshipers. Unclear instructions will frustrate worshipers. Imprecise vocal entrances lead to a lag in the congregation’s singing. Unique soloistic vocal stylings detract from the congregation’s voice. Overusing harmony can disperse the focus of the congregation’s melody. Uncomfortable vocal range can fatigue the congregation. (Suitable for a Congregation) (possible for vocalists) (possible for vocalists)
