A Holy Spirit-filled thank you to all the
parishioners who participate in our annual
Bargains & Beyond Rummage Sale.
Donations: We appreciate your giving of items that are
clean,
usable, and valuable.
Time: We know everybody is busy; yet you find time
to give to this cause.
Energy: We so value all the consistent energy
you offer day after day.
Facilities: We are so appreciative to the parish
for use of the Education Center, the parish basement,
the storage area, and personnel.
Prayers: There are so many moments we depend
on the strength from your prayers.
Thoughts: We understand there are people unable
to work with us, but we know you are thinking about us.
Customers: It is always exciting and rewarding to visit with
so
many parishioners as you shop for treasures and bargains.
Friendships: With most volunteers returning
year after year, we value the friendships
we have developed over time.
Laughter and fun: We thrived on the laughs
and good times we are able to share.
Profits: We realize how vital these funds are to BIZAA,
our parish international program of rescuing and educating
trafficked and street-laboring children.
Local causes: We are able to contribute to the needs of many
local causes.
Memories: As the year continues, we remember the beauty of
honoring God through His people in our parish,
our community, our country, and our big world. We thank you in
God’s holy name.

Gospel Question of the Week
I was a Boy Scout, not a particularly
good one, but I do recognize in my life
certain traits that have been fixed into
my character because of my time as a
member of Troop 724. For example,
I am quick to take the garbage out.
I have a deep-rooted fear that, if
I don’t, raccoons or bears will come into the house at night
and
by morning trash will be strewn around the kitchen. Also,
while
I never have helped an old lady across the street, I am
confi-
dent that I could help one to find a street on Google Maps.
Boy Scout summer camp was especially fun and formative for
me. That’s why I am so grateful that St. Vincent de Paul
offers
such good summer camp experiences. This week our young
people are at Extreme Faith Camp. A few years ago, one
young man from my former parish was reluctant to attend and
felt “forced” to go by his parents.
Catholic Camp or VBS is also this week for our little ones.
The
children will lift their hearts to the Trinity with help from
St.
Patrick and learn to see God as a part of their everyday
life.
Thank you staff and volunteers at SVDP! These summer camps
are making a lasting difference.

Bring our
Gifts
Forward Families and groups of
individuals can ar-
range in advance to
perform the role of
“Gift Bearer” at Mass. The normal practice is to have three
peo-
ple act as a team to bring forward the gifts of wine, water,
and
bread to present to the Presider at Mass. It is a great way
to
help celebrate a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or other
memorable event. Reservations may be made at the Church Of-
fice during regular office hours, and may be made for a
specific
date and Mass time, up to one year in advance. We will
“book”
the reservation with contact information.
A family or group can always cancel a reservation.
The Reservations will be posted Friday afternoon in the
Usher
Room. The Family/Group must sit near the gifts table.
The Family/Group should introduce themselves to the usher
nearest the main doors 10 minutes prior to the beginning of
Mass. The usher will remind them of their duties. If no
Family/
Group that has a reservation has made it known that they are
present with less than 10 minutes before Mass, then the usher
will
select other persons to fulfill this role.
Help pack highly nutritional meals for the
hungry children of the world.
We pack the third Friday of every month

Please Note: When we receive a request to place an individual on
the prayer list in the bulletin, we will do so for a time period of
four weeks. After four weeks, if prayers are still needed for that
person, we ask that you call the office and request that
their name remain on the list. Thank you.
Please pray for the sick of our parish: Rita Goth, Bruce
Guggemos, Tom Boos, Jeanette Rem,
Richard Scherber, & Danny Kroll.
To submit prayers or become a member of the Prayer Line, go to
saintvdp.org, click on “Be Involved”, click on “Pray”,
then choose “Prayer Line” from the menu on the left.
Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick
members of our community and for all who
are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find
consolation in your healing presence. Show your mercy as you close
wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast
spir-
its. May these special people find lasting health and
deliverance, and so join us in thanking you
for all your gifts. We ask this through the Lord Je-sus who
healed those who believed. Amen.
