Weekend?The National Consortium of Black Women in Ministry (NCBWIM), Nashville Chapter and the Greater Nashville affiliate of Susan G. Komen ® have partnered to provide a breast health outreach initiative to Middle Tenessee by Sponsoring Pink Sunday/ Worship in Pink (PS/WIP).

Weekend?

Hundreds of churches join in the effort to“Celebrate Life- Increase Awarness-Inspire Hope” by spreading the message of early detection and honoring survivors.

1 in 8 women will get breast cancer within her lifetime.

Men can get breast cancer too.

Over 2,200 men are expected to be diagnosed in the U.S. in 2013.

Over 230,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013.

Talk to your family about your family healthhistory

Talk to your health care provider about your personal risk of breast cancer

2. GET SCREENEDAsk your health care provider which screening tests are right for you if you are at higher risk

Have a mammogram every year starting at age 40 if you are at average risk

Have a clinical breast exam at least every 3 years starting at 20, and every year starting at 40

3. KNOW WHAT IS NORMAL FOR YOU

Know how your breasts look and feel

Report changes to your health care provider right away

4. MAKE HEALTHY LIFESTYLE CHOICES

Maintain a healthy weight

Add exercise into your routine

Limit alcohol intake
