The main objectives of Strategic Thrust are to

WMO Strategy on Education and Training in Hydrology and Water Resources (2009-2012) is in place

Objectives of the Strategy are to:a) Assist Members in assessing their own

national curricula in HWR;d) Optimize the use of available resources and

mobilize extrabudgetary resources.

There is a need to build capacity in order to meet the increasing demands for more comprehensive services, and CB will be done by

a) Assessing the gaps in knowledge and capabilities to meet requirements;

c) Ensuring that the Region and its NMHSs have the right people with the right skills to achieve their objectives.
