In order to keep up with these changes Vernon Communicaons Cooperave (VC Co-op) is proud to announce promoons for three staff members. Sco Haakenson has been with VC Co-op since 1991, serving as the cooperave’s Accounng Manager. Sco has been promoted to Controller and will now oversee the day to day business operaons of the Cooperave. Ma McGarry has been with VC Co-op since 1990 and has worked through many outside plant posions, most recently as one of VC Co-op’s Network Engineers. Ma has been promoted to Director of Operaons. This is a new posion that will oversee all acvies outside the business office, including member service, construcon, procurement, and network operaons. Darrel Hall, one of VC Co-op’s lead technicians, has worked in our Network Operaon Center since 2006 and has maintained various internal,and external networks, providing technical support to our members. Darrel will concentrate on VC Co-op’s very complex Network as System Administrator. Not only will he maintain the various networks, hardware, and soſtware, but will oversee the process of protecng the cooperave and members from cybersecurity aacks. This experse will be part of the growing managed IT soluons offered by our professional services. Telecommunicaons is complex and VC Co-op employees are specialists in the business. We strive to be the best telecommunicaons company. Congratulaons to Sco, Ma, and Darrel for their talent, leadership and dedicaon. It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a great person, colleague, and friend. Howard Sherpe was employed by Vernon Communications Cooperative from 2007 - 2014 as the Member Relations Manager. Howard’s talents were beyond belief. He was an artist, author, and wood carver, and he was respected by many as a Veteran and active community member. What we will miss most is his friendship.
