A message from the Executive Director
Dear Friends,
What a year it has been. World Accord took on its biggest ever public
engagement event - our Sustainability Tour.
We contacted many organizations and business in in the Kitchener Waterloo
area about having them involved. They would go on a list and map and then
during the "Tour" people would take the map and their Passport to
Sustainability and collect stamps from the places they visited. World Accord
coordinated it all and was involved in radio and TV interviews and talks at
public events.
The Passports were turned in at the World Accord office and put into a draw to
win either a construction expedition to build a school in Honduras or have
dinner with David Suzuki. That was the other part of the event. We arranged
for David Suzuki to speak at a dinner for 100 people at a local restaurant that
is working towards sustainability using locally grown food purchased directly
from local farmers and producers (though they admit to having problems
sourcing locally grown coffee and chocolate).
It was a busy time and one may ask "So what?"
