Embassy of India Helsinki Workshops for Introduction to Hindustani Classical Music by Ashwini Gore-Deshpande 4-18 April 2018, Helsinki You will learn the philosophy and basic concepts of Indian classical music and singing: Raga and the rhythms, aesthetics and elements of Indian music and improvisation techniques. Workshops include demonstrations of Ragas, and participation in a Raga presentations. The workshops series is suitable for both professional musicians and amateurs. Ashwini Gore-Deshpande will conduct the workshops in English. She is trained in Hindustani classical vocal music for 15 years, and has a Master’s Degree in Indian Classical Music. She conducted Indian music workshops at the Sibelius Academy and International School of Music, and teaches Hindustani music in Tampere, where she is based. Ashwini has performed at many events such as Sweden Finland Sangeet in Tampere and Stockholm. She was a top contestant in Indian reality TV show “ZeeMarathi Saregamapa”. Free entrance!
