AUDIO VISUAL LIBRARY CONDITIONS OF BORROWING

Dear Borrower We have recently revised the conditions of loan for material from the audiovisual collection of the library. The revised conditions are as follows:

1. All material must be returned on or before the due date.

2. Items returned from the country areas must be returned by courier. They must

NOT be posted.

3. There is no hiring fee payable for the loans, but a handling charge applies, as in the case of inter-library loans. This amount may be payable by ALIA vouchers, cheque, cash or credit card (Visa, Bankcard, or MasterCard).

4. Borrowers will be charged for the loss, repair or replacement of damaged videos

or dvds. 5. Due to increased demand, videos and dvds are available for loan for a maximum

of 3 days in the metropolitan area and 1 week in the country. More than 3 items may be borrowed but must be returned within 48 hours. Alternative arrangements may be made with the Senior Librarian in special circumstances.

6. The Library reserves the right to:

(a) withdraw or recall videos and dvds at any time (b) withdraw privileges from any borrower who fails to observe the

conditions of loan, or who causes unreasonable damage to material. 7. All videos and dvds are subject to the Copyright Act 1968. It is a breach of

copyright for videos to be copied or exhibited publicly. No admission charge may be made at screenings.

8. Videos marked with an asterisk are not available for loan to private companies

due to restrictions imposed on the department by conditions of purchase. 9. Clients are advised that borrowing indicates acceptance of the above conditions. 10. Bookings for videos and dvds can be made by phone, fax or email. As the video

lending service is extremely popular, you are therefore asked to book in advance to reserve where practicable the video or dvd of your choice.

11. The current handling charge is $9.90 (GST inclusive) per video or dvd borrowed. 12. The audiovisual catalogue is available on the SafetyLine website at
