Background – RCC Initiative
• Given the ongoing market uncertainties, direct support is essential to maintain capacity
• Individual projects or PoAs serve as the most solid basis to provide understanding and capacity
• Support to be provided directly on the ground on a regional basis
• Development of standardized baseline will be a key factor to reduce cost and facilitate the engagement to CDM

Standardized baseline support Identification of priority areas for the development of SB, based on the emission profile of given countries Direct support to relevant institutions in countries for the development and submission of proposed SB Identification of specific project activities and programmes that would benefit from such standardized baselines
Develop country specific analyses Support SBL in Latin America List of possible projects /programmes that can apply the approved SBs

3. CDM project cycle support Identification of CDM project activities and CDM programmes of activities that are at some stage of the CDM cycle (prior consideration, validation, registration, verification, request for issuance) and require technical and procedural support Provide direct support to the identified CDM project activities and programmes
Analysis of the current status of the CDM projects and programmes in the region. CDM Projects and Programmes supported by RCC Bogotá and successfully moved from one stage to the next one.

4. CDM policy input Provide policy input to the CDM Executive Board by suggesting improvements in the CDM regulatory framework, methodologies and guidelines taking into account the Latin American context
