Our Summer Reading Program kicks off with an outdoor car- nival and free ice cream sundaes at 6:00 p.m. This “read for prizes” part of our eight week pro- gram starts on Monday, June 25 for kids, teens, and adults! Nickel City Reptiles and Exotics returns on Tuesday, June 26! The theme for the children’s program is Dream Big, READ. Kids won’t want to miss our many arts and crafts, music, magic, and puppet programs. Sign-up for special weekly summer programs begins Monday, June 18th. Mark your calendars now, so you don’t miss any of these exciting events! Teens and adults are not left out of the fun and can sign-up to “read for prizes” too! The teen reading theme is Own the Night, and the adult theme is Between the Covers, celebrating all things nocturnal. Programs for teens include: movies, live action Clue, and a Hunger Games extravaganza. Adults can choose from special programs like: watercolor painting, cooking and computer classes. The summer booklet with all of our program listings will be available in June. Carnival & Free Ice Cream Opens Summer Programs Library Closed: Monday, May 28 Memorial Day Closed Saturdays: June 23 through Sept. 1 Library Budget and Trustee Vote On Tuesday, May 15, voters in the Le Roy School District vote on the proposed Library budget and on the position of Library trustee. The candidate for the WML Board of Trustees is David Frost. The proposed budget for the fiscal year 2012- 2013 is $385,480 of which $299,500 is to be raised by taxes. Voting takes place in the gymnasium/ auditorium corridor of the Wolcott Street School. There is reserved parking for voters. This area is accessible to individuals with disabilities. Literary Tour Six libraries and First Choice Travel are sponsor- ing a bus trip called “New England Authors in Au- tumn.” During this three day trip (October 19-21), visit the Mark Twain House and the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center. Then travel to Cape Cod and enjoy a walking tour of Sandwich, the oldest town on the Cape. Visit Plimoth Plantation, one of the biggest living his- tory muse- ums in New Eng- land and eat a tradi- tional Thanksgiv- ing meal there. The last day includes a visit to Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Gar- den and Springfield Museum. Pick up a flyer at the Library for a detailed itinerary, accommodation and cost information.
